Stated in:
Part 573 Safety Recall Report
NHTSA Recall No. : 24V-267
Manufacturer Recall No. : 24S24
“Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have the BCM and PCM calibrations updated.
There will be no charge for this service.”
Number of affected vehicles:
402,978 Ford Bronco Sport vehicles
Production Dates: 2/5/2020-3/13/2024
53,587 Ford Maverick vehicles
Production Dates: 2/3/2021-10/28/2022
Doing some math in my head, taking into account number of vehicles, how long it takes a Ford dealership to grant you an appointment on average and how many days the dealership will keep the vehicle on average to update the module calibration data, we will all be talking about this update for a long time.
And I factored in that not all will bother taking their vehicle in for this service and that Ford’s Quick Lane service may not do the calibration updates and that some of the Ford dealership mobile service departments do not perform software updates as a mobile service.
Sure would be nice if Bronco Sport’s supported updating Module calibration via Over The Air (OTA) WiFi.

Remember: Notification to dealers is expected to occur on May 13, 2024. Mailing of owner notification letters is expected to begin May 13, 2024 and is expected to be completed by May 17, 2024.
If you checked your VIN for this recall and don’t see it, just wait. And wait.
I’m in no hurry and likely will not get the recall work performed until end of summer. Usually that’s Oct/Nov ?
