I love my 2023 Badlands but all these recalls
and issues I’ve had are disappointing.
My previous SUVs were great.
My family had a Bronco 2 which we took on many trips.. no rollovers.
I’ve had 3 Explorers..starting in 1990. I took
that car off road in the Mojave Desert, Mammoth Mt. snowstorms,
the forests of Northern Calif and even up the Samoa Dunes.. No problems !
My Badlands is fun to drive, zippy,
very maneuverable but will it last long enough
before it’s paid off.

I think it is an increase in the use of technology, cheaper made parts, and poor quality control including at least in my case some poor fit and finish issues. Some of my fit and finish issues include a poorly fitting rear wheel well felt cover that was sticking out from the fender, the real glass handle where the rear wiper comes out of is crooked. I have noticed that these issues are present on some of the new inventory sitting on the dealers lot. I also happened to notice that the inside roof cover material where it meets the front windshield looks like it was cut with a scissor by an amateur.

I had a 2023 Ford Escape that had some fit and finish issues including a rear hatch that was misaligned and a passenger side front door inside panel that was did not sit properly along the top of the panel where it meets the glass window. The top of the panel was wavy. It was also on other escapes on the lot to different degrees. Because of some technology issues I believe were related to software issues that affected the safety of driving the car I traded it in for my Bronco Sport.

But I do not think these issues are exclusive to Ford. If you search for owners of other manufacturers I see that they have some of the same issues.

I drove my 1984 Bronco II, 5 speed manual transmission, for 12 years with several cross country trips. Loved that little beast until the need to put infants and toddlers in the back of a vehicle with only two doors made me a minivan Mom. Totally reliable my little Bronco II, no fancy software, no touch screen, no driver assists, no knob shifter...I kinda miss those days

Simply put, these new cars have so much more technology and advancements that are more prone to failure unfortunately. The increase in complex electronic components seems to lead to an increase in manufacturers recalls. You would think after years and years of research and testing that it would be the other way around.

Mines been perfect.

1 recall complied with . No problems before no problems after.

what issues ?

recalls are good , not bad. The simple fact is is that if the manufacturer didn’t issue a recall, we’d most likely never know

I still love my 2023 Badlands. Whenever I see my car in a parking lot I say “wow, what a great looking car and it’s mine!
But my issues:

Ford Bronco Sport My SUVs from yesteryear were reliable IMG_7081

Rear wheel speed sensor go bad only a few months, 2 software electronic recalls, bad battery, a pinhole leak in the top of my radiator return hose (see pic),
and now windshield wiper recall.
I think when Ford assembled these cars they
secretly added some magic hypnotic potion,
hidden somewhere that makes us love this car unconditionally.
