Interesting solution to this problem.

Did you consider other options and if so why did you go this way? I’m planning to do the same but with a RAM Mounts Tough Track so maybe there is something I haven’t thought about.

Just finished installing mine. I used the longer 7 mm arm to comfortably clear the screen. Super easy to install and appears very sturdy. I like it alot.

Looking good. Yes, the 7cm arm is the way to go with this kit. Weird how they include the 4mm which is too short imo but I found a use for it. ?

Would the 7mm arm work if I wanted my phone to be right above the air vent to the left of the touchscreen? I wouldn't want my phone to block the view of the screen.

Yes the longer 7cm arm allows you to put the phone in the perfect position. Does not block the screen at all.

Yes. It moves the phone up and to the left making the screen visible

Installed my mount yesterday, and it has a slight vibration with and without phone. Does anyone else have this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

Hello and thank you for taking a look at my first thread created on this forum!!

On this thread i will explain how i installed the mount and give you my honest opinion.

check it out here

I needed a way to mount my phone, that is easily accessible and in view. I searched online and came across bulletpoint mounting solutions and thought that would be great for my phone and to later on mount a camera as well. So i bit the bullet and purchased. haha.

i purchased with standard shipping and it got delivered in 4 days. was supper happy getting home from work friday to see it sitting in front my door.

Opened the box and had 3 boxes inside

the kit came with pretty much everything you need to install and some.

well now time for the install which took me about 15 minutes.

first had to remove the panel behind the screen. the trim removal tool the kit came with made it super easy.
the trick was to start at the top and make your way around. popped right off

once removed, place the whole mount on top the panel to center. i unscrewed all the screws, made sure it was still centered then made my marks with a metallic sharpie.

then i used the drill bit provided to make the holes.
placed the bottom part of the mount back on with the screws, washers and bolts.

screwed the ball mount onto the top plate but before fully tightening it and screwing the top plate back onto the bottom plate, i went back to my BS and pushed the panel back into place. attached to arm to the ball mount to make sure i liked its location, thankfully i did. then tightened the ball mount and top plate back to bottom plate.

and that's it. super easy install. and i love how it looks.

so if i had to give it a rating id say id give it a 4.5 out of 5.

phones in my face and does not interfere with the view of the road. which is exactly what i needed. the mount is super sturdy. my phone is not going anywhere.
i just wish the arm was about 1/2" longer so it would not touch the screen. it doesnt block the screen or anything, just being a little picky lol. but i will be buying a longer arm in the future just to make myself happy lol.
