I bought my 2025 BSH on June 5, 2026.
Shorty after I was diagnosed with Cancer.
Since then BSH has been sitting in my garage.
Its like

long term storage.
I’ve hooked it up to a trickle charger. My question is:
What other things should I do to maintain it ?
Thanks

Sorry to her about your cancer diagnosis, wishing you the best.

Beside trickle charging, maybe ensure no critters are nesting in it, they can be brutal.

Very sorry to hear about the cancer 🙁

about storage, consider elevating the vehicle so the tires aren’t sitting on the ground

fill the gas tank and add a fuel stabilizer

However it likely is best to find someone to drive the vehicle about weekly, for 30-50 miles at varying speeds

if it just won’t be driven for 6 months or more, consider removing the battery, put battery onto a wooden support and keep on a good type of trickle charger

My wife had her breast cancer diagnosis in 2019. This fall it will be 5 years after the conclusion of her treatment. She will be considered cancer free after that. Not sure what type of cancer you have but you can do it too. Think about you. It’s all that matters right now.

Godspeed on the health issues. To keep critters out, put dryer sheets (I use Gain scented ones) under the hood and in the interior to keep mice out. They hate strong smells.

The battery does not need to be on a wooden support it could be sitting right directly on a concrete floor. There is no harm to modern batteries sitting on a concrete floor.

Habits are hard to break
Oh I know, my dad was always recharging old batteries around the shop and force a habit was always to set them on a piece of 2x6 or plywood. I come home from the parts store one day with a new battery for my ATV and for my car, set them both on the concrete floor. You would think that I had just committed murder LOL I got the lecture then I tried to educate. Long story short when I went to install both batteries in my vehicle the following day I discovered them sitting on wood in the shop LOL

My RVing forums recommended coffee beans (not grounds) for keeping away rodents and insects!
