Just wondering if anyone else has brown tires and if so, what did you do about it??? So the original equipment Pirelli Scorpion ATRs, as installed on our 2022 Bronco Sport Badlands are definitely not black, but have a brownish hue. We only have 4,000 miles on the vehicle and the tires have been this color since day one. The Ford dealer attributes the brownish color due to an additive in the manufacturing process, antiozonant, to prevent drying and cracking. A very good friend of our's, also has the exact same tires on her 2022 Bronco Sport Badlands, but they're jet black.

It's most likely brake dust.

The rubber over time absorbs dust, IMO. I use my pressure washer on them and it takes care of the brown and they will dry black!

I have Scorption All Terrain Plus and my passenger side tires are pretty brown. I bought a spray that's supposed to clean it up but haven't had a chance to use it yet.

I tried scrubbing them with my Meguiars car wash soap and a tire brush with no success. After watching a few detailing videos, I scrubbed them with Zep degreaser and it worked. In 50 years of car ownership, this is my first experience with brown tires.

I don't remember the name of the additive but I do remember being in a meeting with a Goodyear production fellow that said the color is a result of a uv inhibitor. He also said Armor All was the best thing you could put on your tires as it makes him produce more. That was years ago and AA may have added an inhibitor by now. I use a tire foam spray and it seems to work fine. As soon as you leave it in the sun however, the additive will still migrate to the surface.

my 2023 outerbanks has a brown discoloration on the tire sidewall. It's definitely from the antioxidant blooming to the surface. I'll have to get new tires eventually so I'll just wear these stock ones out first.

Black Magic Bleche Wite. Spray, let it soak, and lightly scrub off. I do not use tire shine and like my tires to be a nice matte black natural color. Bleche Wite is the way to go.

After a good cleaning with a wheel and tire cleaner. Dry them then apply bug and tar remover and scrub with a stiff brush. Apply a tire dressing that is not too shiny. You will have the blackest tires in town. Detailers secret.
