heck, why just put a ball hitch when this will give you a shock absorbing second bumper!!!!! It protects your car from damage and absorbs the shock so the impact force is not transferred to you which would happen with just a ball hitch, etc handles up to 30mph

Mine came with the hitch and receiver, but not with the ball or the ball mount. Got it and plugged it in in less than a minute.

People seem to stop farther back than they did pre hitch.

Now that is a great ass.
Back in the 70’s and 80’s they built lots of automobiles with great asses.
And IMHO a hitch will do more damage to the other guy, but his crumple zone is still folding around any hitch and getting you.
I could see where in a lower speed crash the hitch may help but not much.
As the speed goes up your hitch rig impacts his engine at some point, you just defeated yours and his crumple zones. Now your frame takes a single or dual point hit..
By by baby Bronco. Totaled.
Full coverage and longer term rental car insurance is your best bet.
Don’t forget uninsured motorist !
I call that last one dead beat insurance.
