I’m guessing whom ever designed these Broncos lived in Arizona. It’s the dumbest thing I seen in a long time. All I did was removed the clips that were holding the cable. It was long enough to hang out a few inches from the hood and I was able to close the hood with no problems. It worked just fine. Then placed it back in the same place using the same clips, in the spring.

I did the same as Xjeeper, with an external outlet with dual cords attached, found on Amazon (https://a.co/d/0iS1DLAn). There’s lots of “dead space” below the right fog lamp that with a bit of nerve is easily drilled through. I put a generous bead of silicone around the outlet and used stainless screws to attach it - be careful not to overtighten, as you’re screwing into plastic which is easy to strip. Run the cords up into the engine bay and plug into the factory heater cord, which you may have to reroute slightly to make work. I also have a battery blanket plugged in and the quality looks good enough to handle both. We had two Edges and they had this type of outlet as factory - I’m not sure why Ford’s engineers that designed this useless block heater cord would think “ya, let’s get rid of something that works great”. Shouldn’t have to rig something up on a new vehicle, Ford!!
