Hi all. New here and happy to be part of the community. I'm located in Northwestern Ontario (Canada).

Regarding the block heater. I don't think a real solution has been posted elsewhere.... I don't understand Ford's decision on the location of the block heater power cord. It's useless. The user manual says to keep hood open when plugging in the block heater. Even if just closing the hood with one click means the remote start for the vehicle will not function. Totally useless for Northern Ontario winters. Has anyone figured out a good way to re-route the block heater cord with an extension cord on the Bronco Sport? I came across one thread on the web that mentions re-routing towards the dash passenger side. Another said do that and then wrap the extension cord around a side view mirror. Cheers and thanks.

For an example, on my 7.3L Ford Diesel, I put a spring loaded cover/receptacle in the bumper and rerouted the cord to it. You just flip up the cover and plug in an extension cord. Mine is off a Kenworth, but there are other ones out there (like Marinco). Cheers!

Keeping the hood open is ridiculous. I just added a short heavy extension cord and left a few. Inches hanging out of the hood and closed it. I did the same for my onboard battery maintainer on the driver's side. The fit is snug, but the hood shuts fine.

That would be hard to do on a BS. There is virtually no route to run acord through all the power vents, radiator etc. to the front bumper.

I took a standard block heater cord and modified it to run to where I have access on the outside of our Bronco.

I've routed a 3ft extension cord behind the front bumper. It was a bit of work, but worked out really nicely.

I followed this video for how to remove the bumper (taking it off was pretty simple, but putting it back on the clips was a bit of pain). How to replace the front bumper on a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands - YouTube You dont't have to take it off entirely either, just get it off the clips upto ~halfway point

I think the results were worth it though as it looks really tidy and doesn't interfere with anything.

If you haven't already, I would suggest using dielectric grease to help prevent corrosion and possible water intrusion.

Hello all. It looks like I’m in the same boat as a lot of you. A giant brain fart from Ford. I’m guessing the people at Ford never spent time outside in -30C (Manitoba Can.)because leaving your hood open all day/night and running out to close it, to start it. Is totally useless and defeats the whole purpose of it. I had taken it to the Ford dealership and they had no clue for a permanent solution without cutting a hole in the grill/bumper. I’m hoping to get through my first winter with the 23 Sport OB without any issues and try to find a reasonable solution this summer. I will keep you all posted.

My reply above was from this time last year. When I ended up doing was obtaining a block heater extension cord routing it around the engine bay to the bottom of the windshield. Works beautifully.

O Ya! Thanks buddy. I will definitely give it a shot. I was hoping to find a more permanent solution.

Just zip tie it as you route it. I leave mine in year around.
