Are there any options for body side mouldings OTHER THAN those on the Ford Accessory site?

I had earmarked a couple of pieces on Amazon, for when my BS arrives but had missed part # 602, which I think I'll get. It's 14.3mm thick and 15.2mm wide. I like the extra thickness and think I mount it just above or below where the factory molding would go, whichever looks best. It isn't cheap, at $105 and it's about 4-5 X the length I think I'll need, though.

I wonder if they’ll fade like the other plastics though. There’s a BS base by me that someone bought when they launched them initially and the bumpers, flares are all faded bad. It looks like a 10 year old wrangler in 2ish years

I would not recommend folding the side panels as the title suggests....I kid I kid. I would say the Ford aftermarket likely fit the best and I believe you can use Ford points on them. Personally not a fan, I don't care for the look. I get the functionality and to each their own, deck it out how you see fit. Many don't care for area 51 and black roof...it's mine and I like it that way?

I just ordered dawn industries body color side moldings. This is the 3rd set I have installed from them. All have been good designs and spot on color match. They are easy to install and have protected my last car from more door dents.

I received the Dawn Industries side moldings. The shape and quality of the product is really good. The eruption green paint is not a good match. It's darker and does have the faint blue hue in the sun. I requested an RMA and will let you know the outcome.

I would be careful with third party since most of the ones I have seen are made from abs, so when that shopping cart hits, you are going to have a nice white mark to deal with.

Also, if you have black moulding instead of a color and you do get a ding, a dab of black paint on a q-tip hides it pretty well, whereas a colored moulding may be tougher to match.

The ford trim, however, is supposed to be made from black polyurethane, so it's black all the way through.

Just something to consider.

Your point are all good. I had dawn Industries body color side moldings on my 2013 escape and I didn't experience any white marks when they were dinged. Let's see what they say about the paint match.
