the OB has the 1.5L
There's been a number of reports of slow warmup issues with the 1.5L, including one just yesterday on the forum suspecting a faulty thermostat. Curious, have you noticed if your temperature gauge is reading below the middle? This would cause the start/stop to remain inoperative.

Hmm. Mine never gets to the middle. I wonder if that's it.

I scheduled a service visit.

FWIW, the last week or so my range has been decreasing at an accelerated rate. It's also been below freezing just about every day. It's a bit warmer today and I only lost 3 miles of estimated range on an 8 mile commute.

This is my experience with EcoBoost engines over the last eight years or so. They run VERY rich when cold, with a significant negative impact on fuel economy.

So, could keeping your sport in a heated garage vs outside account for some of the mileage differences people are experiencing?

Absolutely. Anything that allows the vehicle to warm up faster and get back to normal mixture will affect fuel economy.

I get 22… 23 if I’m lucky. And i don’t drive lead footish. Maybe something is wrong
Nope nothings wrong, those high numbers you see posted are likely with over inflated tires and timid footed drivers. Drive your Ford like it was meant to be driven. Takes a good 10,000 miles to break in.
I’ve watched a lot of those high mpg numbers come and go. Always from a small percentage of the total that report mpg’s in here snd we have several owners hear now.
The normal for both the 1.5 and the 2.0 Liter is in the range of 22 to 27 mpg.
Even in the science end of things you look at averages and common and you throw out the odd few and extreme ends.
Take away traffic, led foot and bad drivers, then weed out the ones who focus on coasting, level no traffic roads and flat lands.
Then remember a fish is at its largest after it’s caught and the story is retold, And it grows more the next time the story is told. Humans do this and are telling the truth as they see it.
,
You will find the true mpg range sooner If you do it over 10 to 20 tanks the old way.

Winter fuel formulas have less BTU per gallon. A percentage is anti freeze additives. Gotta take something out of a gallon to put something in.
And I still call Bullshit on 2.0’s getting 30 plus mpg’s in real world driving.
I’m sure it can be done if someone is pussyfooting around. But in traffic you’d piss off everyone else.
I know how I can show 30 plus mpg I’ve done it.
Reset the meter after you get up to 65 mph and go down a level road without traffic or lights for 30 miles…… or even three.
Now re check the mpg the old fashion proper way and you’ll see how far off that dashboard mpg calculation is.
This guy know the deal.

19,000 miles on my OB. Summertime mostly highway I can get 500 miles per tank. Winter mostly city/county driving it's down to 400. All of my vehicles have seen significant drops in the winter.

Lost 4 miles of range while driving about 20 miles today. It was about 50 outside.

For reference, my BB can have a huge swing based on how I drive. If I am conscious and switch my digital speedo to the fuel economy, I can get 35 in eco driving around town without any issue (aside from the fact I’m not having fun driving it). On the way back, I slap it in sport and get 22.

While I love getting good mileage when on the highway (stay away from 70+ mph…), I drive this thing on the beach, and I drive it for fun. 7000 miles and 24.5 mph average from fuel calcs.

I appreciate that it has a wide range, and so whenever anyone posts their MPG for the 1.5L, if it’s between 22 and 36 I am not shocked.
