I have a 2023 BBBS produced in Oct 2023 , the Recall states the battery was delivered up to 2022. The manufacturer was Camel in China. I will check my battery to see if it was a Camel and if it is not covered by the recall will ask my Ford Dealer to replace with An American Made Battery. If they refuse I will replace it at my cost as I limit my Chinese produced purchases only to what I have limited choices.
According to the AALA MY2025 report, the Bronco Sport is 36% US made, so 64% is coming from other countries, with Mexico, Canada, and Spain representing the largest share.
My 22 Bronco Sport Badlands lost power in a parking lot & when attempting to restart, battery prevented (my dash lit the F up). This occurred during an ice storm & after 30min, I was able to restart without a battery jump. I contacted a Ford dealership & set up an appointment since I recently received the battery recall notice. I thought they would replace the defective Chinese battery, however they wanted me to leave my Bronco over the weekend to determine the issue even tho they knew it was the battery (I had to refuse since I needed transportation).
I had the recalibration done & Ford is aware of the battery issue, so why won't they replace it??!!
Unfortunately I'll probably have to buy a new battery before they provide the "fix".
Also I'm still having issues with my door locks too. I've been broken into 6x last year & 2x this year...I cannot keep anything in my Bronco due to this issue (I live in the city - public parking). I've reset child locks on back doors & I make sure to lock from a distance since the FOB automatically unlocks within seconds (it's like whack a mole...one door or the back hatch remains unlocked & I've tried everything).
