Is the tape really the only way to install this? Because i cant imagine that the glue will be able to stand up to the constant water and dirt that is going to collect under there. It looks good, but it also looks like it subtley floats, giving access to the water and dirt.

This is actually a pretty standard procedure for attaching spoilers to all kinds of vehicles, even from the factory.
