As the title says this is a first 6 months review of my 2025 Bronco Sport Big Bend. My comparison will at times be to my 2015 Jeep JK Unlimited 196,000 miles, I sold shortly before getting the Bronco. I'm now at 9700 miles or so and since day one my MPG average has slowly gotten up to 29 where it has peaked and stays right around there plus or minus .1 for a couple of months now... Jeep only got about 18 MPG
Couple of things about the jeep to be some what comparing apple to apples at times. Jeep was just a Sport model as well so kinda low end came with a Hardtop and I bought a soft top to swap out winter to summer.. Bronco was roughly 35,000 out the door in Jan of this year. Jeep was 33,000 in 2015. I do miss being able to have the open air and yes I could get that with the Bronco but it's around $15,000 more then the Sport model I got at the time.
Bronco no folding rear headrest so folding the sets down are kind of a PITA. I have heard some models of the BS have them but really ALL MODELS should. All Jeep Unlimiteds do.
No spare tire of any sort. Hope to never need it but would be nice to know I had one if so.
Everyday ride is better then the Jeep.
Drivers window has auto down why not give the passenger side the same. Jeep had it. 10 years ago mind you.
Something I wish Jeep and Bronco both would do is put the 4x4 / driving mode instructions on the sun visor.
As I said the Bronco has a nice ride but don't try to do any spirited driving in the curves or your likely to slide out of your seat. They don't hold you in very well. I know the Bronco is not a sports car but it does have Sport in it's name.
Rear seat storage or lack there of. Why not give all models that little side fold up storage area. Jeep was all open the under the rear seat which came in handy to store stuff.
Something 6 months in I haven't fully gotten use to is the gas pedal and brake pedal seem to be pretty sensitive. The gas I'm pretty used to by now, but the brake pedal I think it actually further off the floor then most vehicles that I have driven so I have to move my whole leg to get my foot on the pedal. If it is a quick stop it's tough without jerking everyone in there. If just slowing down I have time to get my foot moved and heel back to the floor to modulate the pedal.
Steering it very light and makes it easy to maneuver in and out of garage and parking spots..
I'm in NC and the Bronco did well last winter in our couple of snow/ice storms we had.
Bronco doesn't come with a paper version of the operators manual. Everything is on the computer screen. That being said if your not going to give me a paper version atleast give me only the info my specific vehicles has. When I first bought it I thought for sure I'd have some kind of under rear seat storage, and didn't see any, so I looked it up on the screen and it showed me the small fold up version that my vehicle doesn't have. Why show me something I don't have. I understand it in the paper versions as they only want to write 1 book for all, but they know what the VIN is to this vehicle so why not have dedicated info just for it..
All in all I'm happy with it and knew some of the things I have griped about before I bought it but in this day an age this vehicle should just have certain things it doesn't.. ( spare tire, folding headrests, etc )
Thanks for reading!
