I'm staying at 54-56 mph hitting 40 mpg consistently.

I tested the 55 theory years ago in a Ford Windstar and save hundreds on gas driving across country from Ohio to California.

Anybody coming close to these #'s?

Did a trop from Sedona to Grand Canyon to Cameron back to Sedona. So not all flat but not exactly all 75mph freeway either. On that trip I got about 36.5 mpg....driving the posted speed limit. So pretty good.

I've hit that number and then some on one tank averages. I admit my OB isn't stock, a few easy mods and other tweaks and 40 plus is doable in the right conditions. There are plenty of forum bashers with tunnel vision that deny anything more than the EPA est is possible. I'm sure there's one of the fore mentioned waiting to call BS on us hyper-milers. I'm waiting to hit 3000 on my trip odo to see what the avg is, so far I'm at 32.4. I'll do the math to see how close the ECU is. The average usually closes up with more miles used in calculation. More to follow...

Damn I wish I could get mileage like that. Iโ€™m like 60/40 highway and city since I got the car last week and havenโ€™t been able to break 19.5mpg ?

I thought I'd give an update on my long term mpg average. After 3700 miles I'm averaging close to 32 mpg. The average closed the gap between the ECU and simple math at 3K. Now the long term mpg is spot on using the Trip 2 odometer.
I drive 80/20 freeway/city here in Southern Florida. I use Auto Stop 100% of the time, Intelligent Cruise 90% of the time, AC on all the time and keep it in Normal Mode 99% of the time. I've seen zero difference using Eco Mode. It might work in different conditions but in S. FL where I'm max 10' above sea level and pretty much between 80 to 90 degrees everyday it doesn't help with mpg. When Hyper-Mileing I've gotten over 40 mpg one tank averages but u really need to focuse on speed and other driving inputs. All in all I'm thoroughly impressed with the 1.5. I get the mpg when commuting and I have the power to pass and play around now and then. I added a custom exhaust, increased my tire pressure 4 lbs and added a K&N filter, as well as Ceratek oil additive and a very good additive for the fuel. Altogether these five things helped a bit, some more than others. I plan on a cross country Florida to Washington drive later this year. After that I'll give another update.

Update on my long term mpg. I pulled into work and noticed my trip odometer was exactly on 7700 miles so I snapped a photo of the mpg, >>32.6 mpg<<. Pretty darn good for a 7700 mile average. My daily average commuting approx 43 miles round trip is 40 mpg.

This drops off to around 30 mpg on the weekends running around town and back up again on Monday. Absolutely impressed to say the least. I always run Chevron 87, use intelligent cruise as much as practical, auto stop all the time and have some intake/exhaust mods to help, it's paid off!

On the highway I drive about 75 - 80. During the height of the pandemic, I was doing over 90, on the way home from work. Nobody was on the road. It was great! I'll keep it at a reasonable speed, if I ever get it. ???

I average around 31 - I have a 70 mile round trip commute - about 1/3 of time is in downtown city traffic and 2/3 is highway. I run about 68mph cruise control on highway. I run Eco all the time - unless going up a few steep hills on my way home, when I switch to normal mode as I feel Eco holds the high gears too much up the hill (the 3 banger seems to be suffering). I also am driving kids back an forth to soccer and tennis practices and games - to and from school etc.

Very cool experiment, but 55 is not practical driving...heck 18 wheelers will blow you off the road at that speed. Driving through Chicagoland IN CONSTRUCTION...I held 55 until delivery vans pushing 90 as they flew by...then a cop...did the same, no lights no sirens, just driving.
When a little old lady passes you and flips you the bird...you'll know know it's time to pick up the pace.?

I've only had my Badlands a few weeks and just filled it for the first time. Don't really have a big enough sample size... only 275 miles on the vehicle. MPGs so far upper teens?

With a 10 mile round trip daily commute on side streets... I don't really care. I didn't buy this vehicle because gas mileage was a concern. If it were I'd have bought a Prius or Hybrid.

I'll gladly take 15-20 mpg all day long for 10 miles/20 minutes in traffic each day. My old commute was 5 times as long in Seattle traffic. ?

Update:

After my 2nd oil change (did the first myself and also will be doing 3rd) done at a dealership I have not broken 40 mpg but have come close.

Have toyed around with Premium and Sheetz 88 Unleaded and got it back up to 38.9 mpg
