22S73 NHTSA Recall 22V859

I had this recall work done about a month ago to my 2022 OBX. They installed a drain tube to the cylinder head and reprogrammed the pcm.

Since the work my gas milage has suffered. All city driving, I went from about 27-28 mpg to now 21-24 mpg.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Thanks,

As I understand it this recall was to drain fuel away from a leaking injecter so it doesn't leak on to a hot engine. Sounds like yours is leaking. Have dealer check it.

Not sure how the PCM reflash actually works, but I was under the assumption that in the event of a detected leak the system would go into a mode to reduce fuel pressure/power.. I would also think you would be able to either see/smell any fuel leak. Good idea to have it checked anyway. Cheers!
