2024 BB parking brake weirdly?

Ok, lately upon stopping to exit my BB, when I hit the starter button to to turn off the motor and place it in Park, I will frequently see a message “Engaging parking brake”, and it is indeed engaged. I am NOT touching the parking brake switch on the center console. wTF?
I don’t recall this self deployment during the first 7000 miles of operation.
It doesn’t happen all the time…but I am surprised it happens at all.
Anyone else experiencing this? Is this normal?

My 25 Badland does it but only when I park on incline/decline. I parked on a hill and when I got back to leave I noticed the parking brake was on. I’m like I know I didn’t put it on! So next time I paid attention. Not sure how much of an angle you need but if it’s enough it will go on automatically

Interesting. Inclines may be a factor, but it has happened in my driveway, which only has a small incline. I will pay attention next time it happens
