2 New recalls 2025-360 and 376 in Canada for 2021-2024 Bronco Sports

2025-360

Issue:
On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the vehicle is reversing.

Safety Risk:
A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the SYNC software.

2025-376

Issue:
On certain vehicles, a fuel injector may crack. If this happens, fuel could leak into the engine compartment.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L EcoBoost engine. This recall replaces Transport Canada recalls 2022-658, 2024-160 and 2025-134.

Safety Risk:
A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.

Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail. As an interim repair, a dealer will update the engine control software to detect fuel injector leaks. Owners that have already received this software update will be informed that the interim repair is not required. Once the final repair is available, you will need to return to a dealership. The final corrective actions for this recall are under development.

Has anyone had this software update done yet? I would love the whole story on this. I have a 2024 1.5 turbo love it for what we use it for and our gas milage is fantastic anywhere from 460 to 500 per tank. Or is this software thing a scam to cut the milage down.

Why would they do that??? I had the initial software/drain tube fix performed and noticed zero change in anything. The OP posted these for Canadian owners (there are similar ones the US). Cheers!

Same reason that toyota did it to my sister inlaw on her toyota car 10 years ago got great gas mileage. Said there was an update on her car went in and never got the same mileage ever again. Reason who knows ( money) so they dont get sued . Father was a great auto repair person. Certified through chevy and Ford. Chevy let a prototype free in the world old lady bought it . They bought it back from her and promised her a new car every year if she would let them have it back. It get super good milage dad said. But it should have never left the plant.

Really?? Believe me, they want to do that. If they get their Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE) standards up, that' helps them out tremendously. They DO NOT want to face the blowback they would get from customers if they purposely tanked everyone's gas mileage. As I mentioned, I have had the recall done with no change in mileage or performance. If you feel they're going to scam you ... you can choose not to have the recall done or have your vehicle worked on (something I don't recommend). Cheers!

There are only three possible modules the camera runs through and that is the APIM, IPMA and IPMB. None of these modules have anything to do with vehicle drivability. In the case of this recall, it specifically says the Sync software needs to be updated to correct the behavior, so it is an APIM update which most likely just makes a minor configuration change to allow the camera to work the way their regulations require it to work.

There is zero possibility this will affect anything related to the way the vehicle actually drives.
