pretty much.
ford corporate is telling me they don’t reimburse taxes, but they tell me that after I rented the car which corporate told me to do, and I waited 8 days for them to respond to the dealer to say “the clicking noise you hear while turning your car has been determined to be a normal...
my vehicle was at the dealer for 8 days while my car sat unattended to waiting to hear from ford. As the dealer was told to wait to hear from engineering. Ford stated I would get a loaner car, they weren’t available at the dealer , so I was told to rent a vehicle from ford corporate at up to $50...
I have them in my BS badlands with the “steel look” wheels. I’ve been doing 5,000 mile oil changes and tire rotations at the dealer. I will try and get that 55k out of them though I do find once tires get lower than 4/32 the performance drop off motivates me to get rid of them.
Drive it for a bit and see if it happens again.
Most likely you inadvertently hit a paddle on the steering wheel, I know this can happen because I’ve done it myself.
If the car shifts normally otherwise (as best as an 8 speed with skip shifts can) I would chalk it up as just a one time error
I just ran onto tire rack to check and falken AT Trails have no tread wear warranty.
I would suggest the Vredestein Pinza AT, as a replacement. I’ve bought vredestein for multiple vehicles and they’ve lasted. Never dry rot and give fantastic performance. Vredestein is lesser known here in the...
the car has been there for the week starting Jan 3. So you’re right and I agree which is why I’ve been persistent it may be fine now, butit definitely sounds like a faulty clockspring.
ford corporate stated via email,
“Ford has documented your concerns with the steering and at this time they...
Possibility of a poorly threaded oil pan, unlikely but not impossible.
possibility of a shop mechanic trying to bang out a bunch of “works” (check all the boxes and just change the oil) and over-torquing because they know the “feel”. Very Likely.
Checkout the vredestein pinza, I think you’ll be impressed.
however if you’re not doing off-roading and are more concerned with overall performance
The Michelin cross climate are probably the best tires out there.
Hey, it’s definitely not a power steering noise, I think this car is electric steering anyhow. This sounds mechanical, as if you were winding up the gears on a kids wind up toy or a pullback car.
I’ll post a video but it sounds like a noisy clockspring
My noise started just after that mileage, when turn the wheel it’s sounds like something is winding up slowly, like a wind up toy. It’s annoying, I brought it to my ford dealer twice but there isn’t a fix as of yet.
Anyone else experiencing a clicking/wind up noise while turning their bronco sport? From what sounds to be the clockspring?
dealer states they can hear it, not sure if there will be a tsb or fix for it, they also state other bronco sports on the lot have this issue. The broncos I drove at off...
I picked mine up in August.
Cost about .25 a mile to drive thecar back to NY. I figured it cost me $325.
food I kept it light. Some coffees and a few egg McMuffins. My sister lives about the halfway point so I stayed with her and I think my flight to Iowa cost me $200ish one way.
I wasn’t...
Granger was great. I took the trip from NY to Iowa, (got stuck in St Louis….FYI if you miss your connection the next flight isn’t until veryyyyy late, or you can do as I did and rent a car and drive from St Louis to Iowa)
MSRP, 42k+ on a Badlands

I purchased from granger back in August. They were fantastic, my buddy ordered an F150 that should be ready by the end of the month. As far as the $1000 goes, when his order was significantly delayed along with other bronco orders they did offer the $1000 back. I think it’s more or less for the...
The Clockspring is embedded in the steering wheel and allows the wheel to be turned in circles without interference and allowing the airbag to function.
