The 2.0 has the drain plug in the front, it will leave a 1/2 qt of used oil in the pan because of the angle of the vehicle while on the ramps. I drive onto the ramps and remove the bash plate and then back down to drain the oil, kind of a pain but it's what I have to do to get all the used oil out.
The Badlands has the 2.0L engine with the liquid cooled PTU which is different than the PTU paired with the 1.5L engine. Does anyone have a link to a video showing a fluid change specific to the Badlands PTU?
I do my own synthetic oil changes and take my vehicles to Discount tire for free rotations, they do it correctly and will rotate free even if you didn't buy the tires there. I only use the dealer for recalls and that's because there's no choice.
I feel your pain. I had this recall done as well and thought everything was good until my wife was driving home in the dark and realized her head lights weren't working. I took it back to the dealer and the service writer informed me that he had to order a new fuse box because it was damaged...
Update: I brought it back to the dealership for the 3rd time on Tuesday morning and didn't get my Bronco Sport back until Friday afternoon. I have an air tag on my vehicle, and I could see it just sat there for 4 days before they started working on it. It looks like they got it fixed this time...
There was an excellent Ford dealership/service dept. in Escalon CA, but unfortunately, they sold the dealership back to Ford and Ford didn't reopen it. So, I took my Bronco Sport to Tracy Ford to have a recall done for parking lamp flicker. I'm heading back to the dealership today for the 3rd...
I agree that leaving a couple ounces of old oil doesn't matter once the engine has gone through the break-in phase. When the engine is still new however, I like to get rid of all the sparkly tid bits that I see in the bottom of the black drain pan.
Yes, it was true flickering, I noticed it when my wife was pulling up into the driveway. I also noticed today when my wife was driving behind me that whenever she used her blinker the headlight would go out on the same side until the blinker went off. I hope the recall fixes these issues.
I have an appointment with my local dealership to get this recall done tomorrow. I noticed my fog lamps in the bumper flickering, has anyone else had this recall done? It supposed to affect the parking lamps but I’m also noticing a problem with flickering fog lights.
I've done a lot of oil changes, some with relatively clean oil, and I've never encountered this. I sent a sample to Blackstone Labs and the oil checked out okay. I've chatted with some Ford tech's online, and they seem to think it's a dye from the factory to check for oil leaks.
The green tint wasn't noticeable at all on the dipstick, it wasn't visible until it hit the black drain pan. If a person had their oil changed at a dealership, I don't think they'd be the wiser. That may be by design, so people don't freak out.
Agreed, I'm not sure if Ford randomly puts green oil in a certain percentage of vehicles to look for leaks. I'm sure it's more cost effective just to leave the green oil in the vehicle. My report from Blackstone came back good and I haven't had any problems to date.
The Maverick Tremor has orange tow hooks, but I'm not sure they're same orange color as the Badlands. I looked for the part #, but I can't find it. Maybe still to new?
