Wife wouldn't let me publish this (mad I even made it) but it's been since 4 April 2023 and she's cooled down a bit. This ties in with our next video (that's already out) about what we replaced the bronco sport with.
Anyway, here it is...

Sad to see, glad no one hurt. I’m not crazy about SoCal, but there are advantages to not having ice covered by snow part of the year — mud and dust are easier to live with.

Wow as long as you weren’t hurt, they make more cars everyday.
Yep...a vehicle can be replaced; your life? No.

when he says 50 he's talking kpm not mph. So about 30 ash mph. That Bronco sport should have held no doubt.

I’m so glad everyone was okay! That must have been so scary!
Curious which brand skid plate you’ve got on the front…

You have obviously never driven on ice. There are many situations where you can't steer or stop at even 5 kmh.
Yes, with ice it doesn’t matter if you have good tires, 4WD, or anything. Ice will take the best vehicles out. I live in Wisconsin. I’ve driven Subarus, many different Jeeps, etc.

Some tires are slightly better than others on ice as they have silica (sand) built into the compound but for the most part you are correct. Best thing you can do is go slow and stay off the brakes when on icy roads. No hard accelerations or steering inputs. Newtons laws about motion pertain here.

Yes . I loved the Cooper Dicoverer Snow tires. They had some of the best rubber. But I still didn’t trust them against ice. Ive been driving for 44 years and know how to drive in snow. You hit black ice, it doesn’t matter.

I am so sorry and that is a very unfortunate video and situation you went though. Glad you are okay as it could have been worse.

Driven plenty of years in snow and ice.
