I have to admit I was taken with the blue accents on the wheel rims and side striping b/c generally I'm not a fan of those sorts of things. But on this it looked nice (and much nicer than the July-unveiled, multi-color vehicle the article referenced).
I was less thrilled with the blue scheme in...
As an aside, I think your son is going to regret not installing the Aeroskin.
The one on our BL has already paid huge dividends. And when it cracked AVS replaced it at no cost.
I did a look at my NOCO purchases (over the last 5-8 years) this morning as I was responding (above)....
Given the amount of NOCO products I have (and am using) I should have bought stock!
Great products (especially if one can wait for a sale). Their lithium start-up batteries (for motorcyles...
I'm a huge NOCO fan and was thinking of trying to do something similar. I had a NOCO Genius 2, but didn't want to go through the hassle of cutting the clamps off and setting up the ring connectors (easier to do on larger NOCO units).
So to find out that the NOCO 2D was available...? Gold...
Great post. Thank you!
I have Eruption Green and feel the same way as you do about the Velocity Blue (and the BS, in general). We have also done pretty much the same mods; the AVS Aeroskin on the front not only helps protect, but I think it looks great, too. I added the chrome Bronco on the...
One of the first upgrades I did after buying the BL. The kit is excellent in all aspects.
Bought the set on Amazon from a 3rd party seller for under $100.
I was told by Ford that most vehicles will no longer come with one.
So I kept the old vehicle zipper case before selling and bought a few more zippered ones (my preference rather than the Velcro flap version) off eBay. None I could find are new; price per is about $15-17.
Detailer (at least the one who works by me) won't ArmorAll or wax the wells for liability reasons (i.e., feet/mat slipping).
But yes, it seems to scuff easily. That's why I used the 42k FordPass points to buy the rubber mats (caution: Ford sells two mats for the BS. One for carpeted wells, one...
Thanks for the links!
And it doesn't require a large load. Apparently any load will do. The night light I have uses 0.5 watts when on (see link, below).
Good point, but I can't imagine that stresses the inverter much (if at all). Nor do they get warm/hot. Just had to tape over the sensor. But...
@M3H7363, great write-up. Thank you.
I love the look of the Bronco Sport, though I know many who simply can't stand it. Same, I guess, with the Maverick.
As far as the OP's question goes, I guess if overall utility and MPG are important the Maverick wins.
Cheers.
Coming aboard for a little education as this has been an interesting thread to read.
We have both a BS BL and Ranger XLT. A superb combo to my mind. Excellent small utility vehicle and mileage with the BS (30mpg) and excellent small pickup performance with better than Ford average with the...
Bumping an old thread....
I appreciate your info here. Just ordered sets for both my BS BL and Ranger.
Significantly cheaper than the Ford OEM ones. Hoping they look as nice on my vehicles as they do on yours.
EDIT (Nov 23): Installed on both my BS BL and Ranger. Installation was a breeze...
I use it, but it doesn't last more than a few months. So expect to reapply several times per year.
Agreed. Recently bought it to apply when we have some warmer weather. Have heard/read nothing but good things about it. Supposed to last at least 6 mos.... And a LOT cheaper than what the...
? I did something like that when I replaced the "steelies" rims that came on my BL with the non-steelie version (I'm putting up the "steelies" on the Marketplace within the next day or so).
