...Bronco Sport Badlands features an updated 2.0L EcoBoost engine, transitioning from the previous series EcoBoost to new Modular Power Cylinder (MPC) Ecoboost specifications for improved performance. So not surprisignly it uses a different oil filter than the previous 2.0L EcoBoost engine...
If you were swapping one 25MY engine with another 25MY engine (i.e. a 1.5L MPC for a 2.0L MPC) I don't think it would be too bad, other than obtaining all the necessary parts.
The possible challenges in marrying a 24MY engine with a 25MY vehicle are the communication between modules...
The 21-24 1.5L Dragon engines are completely different from the 2025 1.5L MPC ( Modular Power Cylinder ) engines. The only thing that is the same is the motor mounts and the displacement. The 2 engines aren't even built in the same plant or country for that matter.
I would highly advise...
...2L engine is completely new for 2025 with few parts shared from the prior 2.0L used in mavericks and Bronco Sports but others have said the 2025 MPC engines (both 1.5L and 2L) have been used since 2023 in certain Ford vehicles
I wonder if the info he’s presenting in this video is accurate...
Not sure where you received your info from but the 2025 1.5L and 2.0L are completely new engines. designated MPC (Ford's new Modular Power Cylinder family).
1.5L
Right, a quick initial google search had a lot of discrepancies so I had to look at the previous years manuals to compare. Do you happen to know if it’s still a plastic pan? I will verify with the drain and check the levels when the time comes. It’s the wife’s car that was purchased last...
Looks great, I am very happy I went with the 25 BL and I like the black wheels, I like how they fit in with the body molding. When I bought mine back in September I received the points in the Ford app around 2 weeks from my purchase. The screen is a bit of a learning curve, you can show the...
From what I have read, they addressed alot of the issues that were in the previous Dragon engines and unlike the Dragon engine, its not a revamped European engine but a from scratch Ford developed engine which generally fairs better then when they use someone elses technology. The last purpose...
Dealer states the idle issues are "normal". So i asked for keys to a BS with the 2.0 and it operates the same as mine. I am done with this issue and will be driving it like any other vehicle regardless of the rpm. Thanks for everyones input.
No it doesn't. Even if I shift into gear right away after start up, there is no abrupt jerking or banging from the tranny. Just going to keep doing what I'm doing.
I'm curious why the MPC has such a high idle though.
...a week or so ago. I noticed it on my test drive.
I haven't paid attention to it after the BL warms up, as I start, shift and go.
This seems to be normal for the 2.0 L MPC engine from seeing these posts.
I guess it's just the nature of the beast, or we can expect a TSB or recall in the future.
That may be true, but there are still plenty of differences. The only thing I can't understand is why Ford is hiding information about its engines, forcing people to theorize and speculate.

“2025 1.5L Bronco Sports use the Dragon B Engine which has been updated with Modular Power Cylinder (MPC) technology, but its still the 1.5L Single Turbo Dragon engine.
If anyone plans to argue that its Not a dragon, don’t waste your time. I work for Ford...
