I've had my Vortex hood overlay on now for a couple months... very happy with it! It makes my Sport more unique IMHO, and also reduces sun glare. I did install it myself. My suggestion is to watch a couple online videos first about using the 'wet' install method. Water, tape, doing half at a...
I think the issue with this C-Pillar trim, is that it's not painted (I believe?) but is instead just molded black plastic. I like how that saves weight, and cost. But I'm also not keen on how quickly it shows 'spider-web' scratches. There's a simple solution: a mild polishing compound like...
Jamie, Thanks, yes your post was a help! I've been too busy to post much since I got my Sport... but I did think and review a lot online (plus at dealers) before deciding on this color. Your insights were a big assist, since I also did not want a black Sport. But I agree, this is a unique...
Nice one Ginger! I love my Kodiak Brown too, especially in the sun or even in any bright light at all. It really pops. I did get a hood overlay from Vortex Signs - its a "V4" whatever that means - but I got mine in black out of possible glare considerations. Been too busy to install yet... but...
I found some I like a lot, although they're not necessarily a solution for someone carrying their dog. I'm quirky about my seats, and any seat covers I use. To me, I'm ok with trading off some protection and coverage, for appearance' sake - that is, to help the seats look (almost) OEM even with...
Thanks for the reminder pepen. I noticed this too on mine. I was installing Gorilla lug locks on it with my torque wrench, and happened to notice it was pretty easy to get the OEM lugs off. (Too easy!). Then I started checking every OEM lug nut. Some were around 90 to 100 ft-lb; but some were...
Thanks for this idea. I feel for the owners posting here, but I'm a realist too. It might be a while before this is all sorted out. In the meantime I've taken the same approach as you. I contacted my insurance company, and changed my policy related to glass coverage. They have a helpful option -...
Agreed. I had a long list of 'nice to have' options (tow pkg, 235 tires, CMS, badlands option package on top of the badlands trim, etc) but really just two 'must haves' (it had to be badlands trim, and either brown, red or alto blue). My dealer came through, once we figured that out. I'm glad...
That's correct. My Badlands doesn't have remote start on the fob - but I can lock/unlock from just about any place or distance from the car, via the Fordpass app on my phone. I used it just today, to lock the doors and do a remote start this morning.
Thank you for the info! I'm going to try this.
I love my Sport... and the hood shape was one of the first cool things I noticed on my test drive. The twin hood bumps really give it character, and give the driver kind of a 'Safari' feel for the whole thing. But after I bought it and started...
Thanks Jamie, for the POV picture. I'm thinking I will mount my overlay like you did, a little forward of the hood's back edge. I like how it's possible to see a little of the hood's color, at that back edge, from the driver seat. Looking good!
That's a cool method, maybe I will try that. In the meantime, I've just been 'tossing' my bikes into the back, usually on their side with the chain up. I also tried standing up my 26" wheel-mtn bike, it can be done - with the spare tire and bike seat removed. Most of the time I'm carrying one...
Very nice! Thanks for your pix and ideas. I placed an order for a 'V4 Hood Overlay', and a 'Badlands' 3" window sticker (pair) (but am just going to put one on the rear).
Hello all! I'm glad to have found this forum and just became a member. I've already learned a lot here, hopefully can give my inputs too as time goes by. I come from a Chevy and Ford family background, so I've had all kinds of wheels in my past. I had a 1978 Chevy K5 Blazer, a 1999 Firebird...
