I'm also getting better mileage. About 28 combined in-town and highway. Just finished a 1,200m roadtrip last night and it stayed at 28, even with lots of loose sand beach driving.
Just got back today from a 1,200 mile roadtrip across Washington state, up the coast, across the top and back down. On the way home, we stopped off in Seattle to test drive the full-size Bronco. I was surprised at how NOT much wider or longer it is than the BS, but much taller. I assumed it...
I'm on the eastside in Wenatchee, but we just got back today from a 1,200 mile roadtrip across the state, up the coast, across the top and back down. In 9 days we only saw 6 other BS's. I've only seen another 6 total since I got mine in April -- and only 1 other FE. Slowly but surely the number...
EDIT TO ADD: Had a chance to try out the seat gap filler "thing" I mentioned above. Works perfectly! And I believe it's much cheaper than the one on Kickstarter. It attaches to the back of the front seat backs and is stiff, to reach across the gap and lay across the edge of the folded down rear...
I see one every day on my way to hike. Because I'm driving it :) No problems yet @6k miles. Save the cracked windshield (rock chip) that took 2 months to get replaced. Love it!
I have the link saved for it, saw it on Kickstarter a while ago. But I had already bought this very similar product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0888S5Q6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Haven't used it yet, but looks like it has the same functionality as the Bivy thing...
I might end up with the best of both worlds. We never canceled our "big sister" reservation after buying the "little sister" and now my husband is seriously considering trading in his Raptor for her. I hope he does, assuming he'll share
ETA: "Big Sister" arrived 2 weeks ago. She's as fun as the...
I think they are narrower than normal molle straps. I have a gun holster that fits on other molle strap systems just fine but won't work on these. Had to buy a different type of holster to work there, but it's where I park my S&W when I'm sleeping in the Bronco (car camping.)
We were driving on gravel roads that are covered with crushed calcium carbonate instead of gravel, which isn't uncommon in areas of north central washington. On the way home, we stopped and had the Bronco washed. The areas where the calcium dust (it's white) had collected in the rim around the...
Two you mentioned:
- Power seating memory (driver & passenger) -- (This is pretty major to me!)
- Same power seating for passenger side as driver's side (no lumbar setting) -- (Not too major)
And this one really bugs me:
Since the rear seat split is asymmetrical, it would make MUCH more sense...
That's how I got my FE. It was listed for sale at a dealer site. I called about it, was told it had only been ordered, not built, but since they had the VIN they were allowed to list it. I put $1000 down over the phone and they called me about 6 weeks later when it was built and delivered.
Yes, got one this weekend right next to the passenger side edge, right in the center. About a half dollar size starburst. We were out of town and when we woke up the next morning it was a big split almost half way across the width of the windshield. Haven't even made my first payment on it yet...
Well, I'm still awaiting delivery of my First Edition, should be the week of April 17-23, I'm told. I already know her name will be Skaði -- a Norse giant, turned goddess. Her dominion was the mountains and snow and she communed with animals on the "darker" side, not evil, but considered scary...
My oldest daughter's name is Shade :) When she was a pre-teen, we used to comment we'd better never hear a boy say he was planning on getting "made in the shade."
