I'm no expert on unibody construction but by the looks of photos I've seen on another forum, the factory tow hitch assembly appears to be quite substantial. At a minimum, it looks like it is well suited for the tow weight designed for.

That's my sense of it. I'll be at my dealership next week to discuss this. They are supposed to have done the research so we'll see what they found out.

My concern is with the wiring harness. I couldn't find any wiring for fog lamps behind the bumper. And the lamp button on the dash does not have a center cap. Seems like it could take some time to do this job. I haven't decided if I want to have it done to mine.

It's possible there's a bumper that has the fog lamp openings. I've read on other forums of people removing the bumper to perform some other installation. Perhaps that part of the install isn't a problem other than the cost of materials and labor. It's the electrical part I have questions...

Let me just add this. I am very happy with my BSBB. It has exceeded my expectations in all of its functions so far. In the first 5 days I've driven at night at the outset of a snow storm, and in snow covered streets with no problem. The 1.5L 3 has surprised me with its power. The GOAT...

I have no idea how involved the install is. That's what I want to find out. Depending on what they tell me will determine whether I'll have it done. Anyway, this isn't the dealerships fault.

I haven't decided if I want them for that very possibility. I'm going to see if they'll negotiate for something I want and it won't involve any install on their part.

I spoke with a Ford rep and they told me that if the item is on the window sticker (monroney) then the dealership I bought it from is obligated to install that item. I will update once I've spoken with them.

That's my thinking as well. If it's on the monroney it should be on the vehicle. My salesman feels the same way so we'll see how this plays out. It's not a deal breaker by any means, but I'd like to hear Ford's explanation. I really like my BSBB. Exceeding my expectations so far.

You know, as an aside, the headlamps do a really nice job of illuminating the road. Almost as if there were fog lamps on at the same time. I said, almost! Lol!
