  1. I'm thinking about changing the stock battery to a AGM type battery

Actually, many including myself thought the same but the battery is not fully charged after a long trip. When I would connect my Deltan battery tender plus to the battery after a trip, the battery would be at less than 85%. A blinking green light would show after a few hours of trickle charge...
  2. I have come to a conclusion....

No proof but the AGM is a much better battery for the BS. So I can see why Ford initially used the AGM. I'm sure you have heard all the noises of a shut down BS. Electrical stuff like headlight fans etc. Just open and shut the door and listen to the electrical stuff clicking...
  3. I have come to a conclusion....

Nothing but what was posted here that the early BS had AGM batteries. Why would Ford, at an extra expense, use the AGM if it wasn't needed?
  4. I have come to a conclusion....

The early BS had AGM battery but what's said is Ford couldn't get AGM batteries so they went with the lead acid battery. I wouldn't put past the cost of the AGM batteries. AGM's are available now.
  5. I have come to a conclusion....

The BS initially came with an AGM battery. Now it doesn't. It was designed for AGM battery use. Very few battery issues with an AGM battery. We should all have AGM batteries like the early SB. It's one thing to delete the minor things Ford has but an AGM deletion isn't minor when people are...

Great info on an AGM battery. Though I never use stop/start, I'm probably going to go AGM. This vehicle is supposed to have an AGM battery. The early BS had an AGM.
  8. I have come to a conclusion....

Does any of the no-problem ones have an AGM type battery or better yet have a lead acid battery?
  9. I have come to a conclusion....

But it can be a time bomb. You just never know. At least most of the time the issue is the battery but it still can leave you stranded. I carry a small lithium batteryjump starter just in case but am considering an AGM battery.
  10. I'm thinking about changing the stock battery to a AGM type battery

So, the BS should have an AGM but either the AGM cost more and was another deleted item or Ford can't get the AGM. I would think AGM batteries are available now.
  11. I'm thinking about changing the stock battery to a AGM type battery

So you feel it's a better battery for the BS. Not many issues with the AGM vs. the lead acid battery.
  12. Brand New Major Transmission issues

The round shifter could be part of the problem. I'm not a fan of it. Nor do I like the push buttons trans.

  14. I'm thinking about changing the stock battery to a AGM type battery

I may change the battery to an AGM after my trip. I figure I'll have just over 2K miles and will go with an oil change to full synthetic at the same time. It has been a long time since I had to change a battery, I don't keep vehicles long. I was hoping to now. Can the dealer save presets in the...
  15. I'm thinking about changing the stock battery to a AGM type battery

I haven't really looked at brands. I'd probably let my dealer service do the change if I decide to do it. It's hot and humid here but not 110. I guess I can ask for a specific AGM brand because the dealer would get the battery from an outside source. The change is more of a peace of mind thing.
  16. I'm thinking about changing the stock battery to a AGM type battery

All these battery issues (especially in the 1.5L) have me thinking about going to an AGM battery before possible issues. No guarantee the issue won't happen with an AGM battery but it seems virtually no issues with the AGM. It's a terrible feeling knowing the issues the stock battery has in many...
