It totally is I feel like. And I like them so far. I’ve seen that the tread wear is amazing, low road noise, the rock ejection has worked as advertised, on road handling is still pretty decent, off-road capabilities have been top notch, and the look of the sidewall alone sold me. Haha. I get...
Then I would definitely do the 245’s. They do look pretty sweet. I’ve posted some pictures as I’m sure you’ve seen many others as well. The side wall difference is noticeable. And it’s nice to feel like you are sitting a little higher as it sits fairly low at stock level comparatively.
Personally, if you are not concerned about gaining an extra half inch of ground clearance, I’d go with the 235’s as I feel the 1.5 liter is a little underpowered with the 245’s. I only did the 245’s because I bought the leveling kit and it will fill out the wheel well a little better. It still...
Like someone else mentioned, noise, gas mileage (2-4 mpg loss it seems), breaking (when stepping up tire size), and acceleration would be some of the drawbacks going with an aggressive AT tire. If you need any suggestions, let me know. I’ve done a lot of research already. Hope this helps!
The KO2’s do fit a Big Bend without a lift or leveling kit, but with some rubbing. You have to move/trim some of the fender liner underneath. A couple people have done it with success. All other popular 245/65/17 tires fit with no rubbing under load or articulation. Hope this helps!
So far, so good! Low road noise and handle quite nicely on and off road. Rock ejection works very good. Love the look as well. All the cons come with any AT tire for the most part.
I have them and it does feel slightly underpowered now. Especially during initial acceleration. Feels like it needs the bigger engine. But that’s indicative of any larger all terrain tire being added on with an aggressive tread pattern I would imagine. I was going to go with the 235/65/17...
Haha. Makes sense. The stock tires are pretty garbage though. My plan was to eventually buy another set of cheaper wheels and just run the stock tires off season or in between. So as to not waste them. It got me rethinking as well and I caved. ? Glad I did.
Installed the Thule fairing today. Opted to go with the 38”. Although it now appears that the 44” may have fit due to the angle of the fairing against the rails. The base has 44” of room, but the fairing sits at the middle of the rail which is about 43”. Didn’t want to chance it I guess. ??‍♂️
