Congratulations on both your retirement and your BS. We (HaHaHa) my wife has had her BS Heritage since March and just loves it, we have had zero issues with it. I think these are great vehicles and am looking at having ours for many trouble free years. I did get to drive it today, it needed gas...
I feel for you, when I bought my 1993 escort wagon it was the first car I owned that I had to read the owners manual just to figure out how to turn on the headlights so I could drive it home from the dealership.
It was a crazy day, my kids went to school as normal (middle and high school) and when they came out these were posted around the Fort Campbell schools, the truck not rocket, with soldier's carrying man portable stinger missiles on the roofs. It was taking 8 or more hours to get on base if you...
Thank you for your thoughts, I like most of us remember where we were at when we saw , heard about the attacks. I was sitting on my couch putting my combat boots on when I saw the second tower hit. I did not know anyone in New York that day but knew, know thousands of the Service members that...
I bought a 24 BS Heritage about 8 months ago and have about 5k miles on it. Had the 24S24/24V267 (BCM and PCM Calibration Updates) done with no issues afterwards. The truck has been great. We have the 1.5 and so far no issues, one of the reasons we got rid of my wife's 17 escape was the 2.0 was...
I have never liked the term Big Bronco, or Full Size Bronco. I have had a1979 Bronco, as well as '80s and 90's, currently I have a 1968 half cab these all were/are full sized or big Bronco's. The were the same size as all the other ones made the same year, so they were full sized. Enough for my...
I would add it's a good idea to replace the 2 piece lugs nuts with 1 piece lug nuts while dealing with them anyway. Save yourself some headaches down the road.
Wife and I have had a couple of vehicles over our time together ( we met in third grade, 1969).
1968 Mustang coupe
1972 Galaxy station wagon
1974 F100
1979 F250
1980 Oldsmobile Omega
1988 Taurus wagon
1993 Escort wagon
1992 Areostar
1979 Bronco Ranger XLT
1968 Galaxy station wagon...
I have had Firestone destination LE2/3 on on 5 of my vehicles 2w F150s, 4w Escapes, and my current 4w Ranger. They have done well on pavement and the occasional snow we get in TN. I have gotten better than 60,000 miles out of them, I change them out in the fall before snow can fall so could have...
I turned my wife's '24 Heritage BS into a green eyed monster, Betty did not like getting ignored as I changed the trans fluid in Barney my '19,Ranger XLT. She just couldn't accept that he has a lot more miles and needed the attention.
I'm not sure if I qualify for this thread, my wife has the robins egg Blue Heritage BS, but I do have a Hot Pepper Red Ranger. So can I join you in this group
I walked by my wife 24 BS Heritage this morning on the way to my Ranger when going to work. That's about as close to it as I'm allowed to get without her prior written permission. She loves her BS and is very protective of it.
What are MILSPEC valve caps? This is what I get when I order valve caps through the Army Supply System. 100 of them for $3.03, but they do have a rubber o-ring inside. The Army calls for these on the HUMVEE, 2 1/2 ton, 5ton and 10ton HEMTT trucks.
October in southern Missouri can be anything from freezing to 90's so be ready for all kinds of weather. I was born in NE Missouri but last lived there in the 90's at Fort Leonard Wood. Beautiful country with lots to see and do. Enjoy your trip, we had many great family adventures exploring the...
Thanks for the advice, I always retorque as soon as I get home from getting new tires and then 50 to 100 miles latter. As was the phrase of the day during the cold war, Trust but Verify.
I replaced the factory 2 piece lugs nut today with chrome one piece. It took all of 10 minutes including torquing the new lug nuts. Got to love electric impact wrenches. And no didn't tighten them with the impact, just removed the old ones. By the way anyone need a set of 2 piece lugs nut, they...
Unfortunately Billy is long gone. I had to sell Billy when I went to Korea. Billy was a 4 speed and the wife doesn't drive a stick. But the wife's BS stable mate is my 68 halfcab project.
