  1. Love the Bronco Sport

    Congrats! Very nice!
  2. Convince a city guy into a bronco sport

It all depends on how many kids and how much gear you'll be hauling around. I use my Expedition when I need the space and they are amazing off-road. A used Expedition can be a great deal if you need a lot of space (hauls up to 8) with plenty of space behind the third row (especially the EL...
  3. Hello from VA

    Welcome! You'll love it!
  4. Post Your Bronco Sport - Off-Roading Videos

Well done! First ones with some mud!!
  5. After a good 250 mile drive today, some thoughts.

I would never use cruise control in wet or snowy conditions anyways.
  6. New Big Bend Yesterday!!!

Congrats and keep us informed on how it does!
  7. Picked up our Bronco Sport Outer Banks

Nice BS! Let us know how the snow driving was.
  8. MPGs

That's great! I have a Badlands and took a 250 mile trip (less than 400 miles on it now) at mostly 70-75 mph with strong cross and headwinds most of the way with elevations of 5000-7000 feet and got 24 mpg. EPA is 26 but I'm pretty happy with that at elevation and fighting a lot of wind. No...
  9. Post Your Bronco Sport - Off-Roading Videos

16:35 for the start of some minimal off-roading. Hey, it's something even if he's driving slow.
  10. Just bought Outer Banks

    Congrats!
  11. Post Your Bronco Sport - Off-Roading Videos

That's why we have skid plates! But seriously, it's always good to go slow and if in doubt get out and look at what you're about to attempt. Grew up wheeling in a 68 Bronco that I later called Sherpa. No matter how good your rig is, it never hurts to check out what's ahead. And I always learned...
  12. NEW TIRES on BS Big Bend (Falken WildPeak A/T3W -- 245/65R17)

You can only increase the minimum ground clearance via tires so going from the BL with optional 29" tires and 8.8" of ground clearance (it's only 8.8" with the optional 29" tires) to 31" tires will only get you another inch of ground clearance (depending on tire brand and exact size but within a...
  13. Bronco Sport Quality in Real Life

Just picked up my BL yesterday so 3 very short rides so far. Each time I drive it, I can't wait until the next drive even more. No strong opinions yet but I think that motor will be quite fun and the vehicle feels solid and truck-like and that's a good thing! Got stuck behind a slow moving Jeep...
  14. Bronco Sport on Rough Country 1.5" Lift Kit + 245/65/17 AT Tires + 17x8 Wheels

Now if you could fit 31s that would make for about 9.8" of clearance on a Badlands. That would be nice!
  15. My thoughts after a weekend roadtrip

Nice write-up! Your BL looks sharp! If my deal goes smooth, I'll be driving my Area 51 BL home this afternoon.
  16. December 2020 Build Date Issues

No problem here. Built 12/16. Ford originally said arrival at the dealer between 1/30 and 2/5 but it actually arrived Friday evening. I pick it up tomorrow. So scheduled for production 12/11, built 12/16 and arrived 1/8. (and ordered 8/19)
  17. Post Your Bronco Sport - Off-Roading Videos

There's so few off-road videos yet!
  18. AT vs Winter Tires, Real World Experience

I use studless snows on my front wheel drive car (Focus ZX3) and it's pretty impressive but I honestly have had great luck with the Falken Wildpeaks AT3W's on my two Expeditions. Haven't found any need yet to do more. Anxious to try my BL with the Wildpeaks!
  19. First Area51 Bronco at Area51 - Do I win a prize?

Awesome! That appears to be my exact build too! I pick mine up Monday!
