I switched to the 225 BFG All-Terrains about a year ago, I've noticed a small drop in MPG compared to the stock tires. There was no need for me to go any larger than the stock size but the looks and the performance in snow and light trails makes up for the small drop in MPG. There is a little...
I removed the engine cover and looked at the injector area myself and didn't see any wet fuel anywhere, but I could definitely smell it after driving for a while, who knows where it is coming from.
I had recently received the recall notice and had called the dealer to inquire about the recall. It seems like shortly after that I noticed the gas smell. The vehicle is well out of warranty (58,000 miles), I don't know what else would be covered besides the recall work.
I noticed my fuel injectors leaking recently because of a strong gas smell when parking after a long drive. I notified my dealer and was told to wait "a couple weeks" for parts to arrive before anything could be done, meanwhile I'm driving around in a bronco that could catch fire while driving.
I also have a '21 Grand Cherokee and there is no comparison to the headlights on my Big Bend, the lights on the Bronco make it so much nicer to drive at night or in bad weather.
I've had my Big Bend for 2 years now, since then I put over 58,000 miles on it, a set of BFG K02 tires, got rid of the mini spare, will need a new windshield soon. At first I wasn't sure of the 1.5L engine but it's got plenty of guts for the little Bronco, I'll keep up with maintenance and see...
This problem could also be caused by a loose ground connection. A loose ground cable could cause the battery not to charge and may affect electronic systems, I've had this problem before on another vehicle.
A friends Ford Escape got totaled from being hit the same way. Even if fixed it wouldn't be the same, like trying to straighten out a crushed beer can.
If my BS catches fire I'm not worried about putting it out, I'll try to remove my belongings and let her burn. Then my insurance company can sort things out.
While on the highway I can notice the power increase while passing another vehicle, if the RPMs are at highway cruising speed it definitely pulls at 70-80 mph. Not bad for a 1.5L.
Are your headlights staying on after you get out of the vehicle? Sometimes I notice that my daytime lights stay on for up to 5 minutes on until I use the keyfob to unlock then relock the doors. I've never had a battery problem though.
