The dealership that ordered my BL had a Bronco Sport in November for familiarization training and the Ford rep said that he moved the crossbars from the front to the back when he started using the vehicle. These were the Yakima ones with the extended length.
this is good to know. We travel to Colorado about once a year and the drive really wears on your back. The lumbar support feels really good on the escape. I imagine the internals are the same.
Go through the whole spare tire kit and replace what you can.
the jack is probably adequate for road use, but the lug wrench that came with my Ford Focus was really soft and didn’t last for 5 lugs. Had to go to autozone and buy a real one to get the last nut off. All this while stuck in a Shell...
If you’re using them just for winter, I wonder if you could use steel escape rims, the ones that come with plastic hubcaps. I believe they are 17”. Our escape has aluminum wheels but they are 17.”
a set of steel rims would be cheaper than a set of aluminum I would think.
Mine shows the same date, but when I went to the dealer it showed a real production date. There should be updates on 1/2/21. According to my dealer the factory is closed for the holiday until the 1/1/21.
thanks that makes more sense.
I knew the 17 was the diameter but I thought a 225 and 235 would both require different wheels because of the added width but you are saying the 235 has the same width at the rim but is more bulbous which gives that extra 10mm of tread.
tires are somewhat of a...
yeah, I went back and found the thread I posted on Bronco Nation Forum and it was agreed that the spoked aluminum rim only came with the 225/65 tire. It made sense at the time , so there is two optional dimensions for the wheel you have? One that accepts the larger tire and one that accepts the...
Btw, I love both real aluminum wheels. It took seeing the $795 wheels in person to win me over, but I couldn’t change my order.
I listened to people on one of the Bronco sites that said the 235/65 R17 only fit the “real aluminum” wheel package.
so there are 2 size wheels that come in the carbonized gray? I didn’t think a wheel could accept 2 different size tires?
this pisses me off a little, because I thought the larger tire would only fit on the “fake steelie” wheel.
I’d like to know too.
My second pick would probably be a Cherokee Trailhawk, even though they have a pretty uninspired style. I will say that Jeep has some sales that are currently going on these.
I should clarify. I ordered the car 11/11 and got my vin sometime at the end of November or early Dec. I stopped by the dealer to check on the status of the order.
I went to the dealer yesterday and I have a build date of 01/18/21 so hoping it comes in early as some have had build dates were February and yet they came in early.
hoping the Area 51 exterior and cyber orange interior isn’t slowing up my order.
Dealer did say that the production line is...
I hope so. I had to put $500 down on mine to get the order locked in. I was doing a refi and couldn’t have my credit run during that time. I assume this means my price is locked in.
I have googled what comparable kits cost, but does anyone know what a fair price for installation would be?
I have watched videos on installing these on other Ford models (Ranger), and they are not very complicated. I would prefer to have someone else take on the task though.
Other info, I have a vin for my car but haven’t received a build date. Is it too late to change at this point? I’ll ask my dealer tomorrow but thought I would ask here.
My Ford dealer got these in as part of their service loaner program. Seeing these wheels up close has me questioning my wheel choice. I picked the Standard Badlands wheel.
