Maybe a liability concern?! If Ford released those "defective" Sport to you, and the brakes fail... somebody seriously hurt... Ford would be responsible.
Ford can't take back what's already out of the barn doors.
Received my letter from Ford about a week ago. Compliance recall notice 21C31/NHTSA recall 21V922.
Says NOTHING about front or rear pads. Only mentions brake vacuum booster failing. Wait for Ford to contact me when parts are available.
Hey Steve, Falken Wildpeak AT3W 245/65r17. Running at 33psi per the Falken rep out here. Airing down would probably help on the slippery surface but I spend most of my time on plain asphalt, so far. The snow fall here hasn't been that crazy. Some roads on my way to work wind through some...
I would agree that the Falkens do not do well in slippery/icy conditions, but work well in snow. They need something for the tread to grab onto. I suppose not much will grab ice but some will work better than others.
I replaced the continentals on my big bend with Falken Wildpeaks At/3w right away. Those and the BFG KO2's seem to be popular out here, though there are others that people will mention.
Thanks. I'm still trying to put together some video, I'll end up adding youtube links. Julz670 from Bronco6g also has some pics and vid. He hasn't posted over there yet.
Took it out on a trail, my first time out ever. Nemadji State Forest in MN. Met up with a Bronco owner, Julz670 on Bronco6g. He has a 2021 Black Diamond 2-dr, mid package, 2.3L A51. Me, Bronco Sport Big Bend. Started out about -10 degrees but warmed up to a balmy 1 degree. Did not want to...
Picked up a pair of traction boards by Orworks (Amazon), and an air-down tool by Boulder Tools (Amazon). Might put them to use tomorrow, Nemadji State Forest in MN.
Did you put bigger tires on it? I put 245's up from the factory 225's, so I don't have anything to compare it to. Getting the bigger/heavier tires moving requires more gas I'm sure. During the summer months best I could get was 28mpg in Eco mode. Now in the winter I get maybe 25mpg...
Big Bend 6800 miles and I just did my second oil change last week. I'll stick with Fords recommended filter and synthetic blend, and change every 3k-4k.
I ran a synthetic blend in my Mitsu Lancer for 250k and it's still running strong.
This is the Big Bend trim.
Update, took it in for an oil change today, 11 days after running over the dead deer. Here's what was found:
Blood and hair. The plate/cover that goes in that hole is damaged. Nothing else damaged, thankfully. I panicked when I first saw the pic, thought it was...
I too have felt this "shudder". I'm at 6700 miles. For the last couple hundred miles the shudder seems to have subsided or gone away (normal and eco mode). Does the BS have the adaptive learning transmission, to smooth out this shudder?
When did you get your BS? Your dash layout is a little different, the temp and gas gauge along the bottom, and the chrome ring around the rpm/speedo.
Here's my dash, BS purchased Sept 2021.
I'm struggling to get above 28mpg, with 245's. Best I've ever had is low 28's, calculated manually...
Follow-up on the JLT Oil Separator, after about 4000 miles, it was about 3/4 full, milky light brown liquid. It must be doing its job.
Getting second oil change next week, about 6500 miles.
