UPDATE:DID NOT FIX IT FOR MORE THAN A DAY
FIXED IT! OH THANK GOD JESUS!
Idk why this particular tapping/rattle noise was so enraging to me but after a couple weeks of trying EVERYTHING I got it to finally shut up on my way home today.
The whole story is as follows
I initially put cloth tape...
Than you pinch opposite sides of that metal bracket inside the handle and pull the handle outward. The handle comes out and the bracket stays than you pinch the bracket to remove it from the hole. Curious why they didn’t opt to have it screwed into place?
If I apply pressure on the actual metal of the bracket in the right hole the clicking/rattle goes away. ? I’ve touched everything in the video with no success. Not the plastic plug or the bolt or any wiring or airbag assembly. But pressing on the metal bracket solves it. So I took needle nose...
I’ve grown to really dislike dealing with the dealership for things like this. I realize that’s what the warranty is for and how ignorant I sound but it will go as follows,
Can’t get me in for a month, bring it in after waiting, They will have it for 4 days, result will be either “couldn’t...
Welp rattle is still there. It’s like it’s directly behind the right hole for the grab handle. I’ve never had a rattle trigger me this bad cause I see and touch everything in that area and no effect lol. And as I’m figuring out the rattle my muffler began rattling on the inside pretty bad...
I think this might be the culprit
I taped that white piece tight to the frame and
I also put cloth tape behind the bracket holding the seat belt to the frame. I don’t think that was causing the rattle but there was definitely some play for it to bounce metal on metal. Maybe the sound travels up...
I’m going absolutely crazy. Rattle is for sure up above headliner above right side of grab handle. I’ve pulled down headliner from door jam and nothing I touch stops it. Stuck an endoscope through right hole that mounts grab handle and can’t see anything causing it. If I press on headliner...
I can definitely hear it with my headphones. I wish I had answers for you. Clicks and clacks are just something to get used to with these it feels like hahah. I love my sport but in my experience the dealership says they can’t replicate or it’s normal. So I’ve decided to just drive it til...
The rpms started surging and “bucking” after a 2.5 hour drive and going from highway driving to city driving. Contacted my dealership. Said the transmission techs are extremely backed up and they couldn’t get me in til end of August. It never shuddered again after so I canceled my appointment...
Alright. Final update on this infamous part number. Got the package after ordering on eBay. Shipped from Germany. Couldn’t find it anywhere in the US but also didn’t go to my dealerships parts department with specific part number. So maybe it is available.
She fits. Here is part number on...
Just a warning I feel obligated to share due to my own experience,
Careful with those liftgate letters. Was drying with a towel after a wash and the towel snagged the “T” and snapped the top right of it clean off lol
You’re a legend. I couldn’t find anything with that original part number and didn’t realize part numbers can be associated to other part #’s.
I ended up purchasing the one I found on eBay it’ll probably get here in a few months ?
