Figured it out. I have about 1087lbs to play with (not seeing the weight with sunroof for some reason) Rounding that down to 1000 lbs in order to stay within limits.
Not a lot for two people, kit, fuel, and all that really.
So here is a thought. That is sprung weight. I wonder how tires...
I have been unable to find the Gross Vehicle Weight of the Bronco Sport anyplace. Ford isn’t telling…
This matters as each vehicle is specified for a maximum weight allowance for it to carry. That weight includes the vehicle itself and all options, tires, and any addons. It also includes...
Same. We shall find out I suppose. I am into mine for five to seven years. I hope to be into camping and exploring in a big way by then and would like to have an overland rig for retirement.
Agreed but for a few niggles.
It is an Escape. But not the car like one that exists now. It reminds me of the original Escape brought up to date and that was more or less inspired by a Land Rover and that was why I bought it - because it reminds me so strongly of Land Rover from 20 years ago.
And this is where I have to scratch my head at Ford (not your analysis which makes sense). Saab started it in the late 1980s with turbos that maxed out at stupid torque (for the day - north of 250lb/ft) at fast idle (1350 rpm - going from memory here) and today, one of the kings of the hill is...
Mine did that on about day two. Stuck it back in on day three and put in the tub floor mats and hasn’t happened since. Best guess is that the carpet is about 1cm too narrow.
Mind you, carpet in cars is dumb. So easily ruined.
I had a wooden Opinel, but the dog ate it. Thankfully, I got to him before he got to the blade. Dogs. Sheesh. To this day I have no idea how he found it!
I figured removing the seats wouldn’t be too bad. I will maybe go that route when I put in a dual battery system.
The dog cage will be home made ?. Plan is to mod some SUV dog barriers and build my furry friend a safety cage with blankets and toys and a chunk of carabiner locked webbing to clip...
It isn’t so much about the truck, but we finally got out camping! Both dogs fit, all our crap fit, it was comfortable, and we are having a hoot in the rain.
This trip was more about testing loading and new camping gear than anything. Our organizational paradigm stinks!
Wish to have:
- Dual...
Very impressive especially considering the car, despite the tech, really isn’t designed for off road. The lack of sufficient protection, plastic bumpers, and clearance let down a pretty great machine.
Unless you got a badlands, you don’t get recovery points common on normal cars. Don’t slide into the ditch in the snow.
The best reason to get a trailer hitch is to have a way to yank the thing out of a ditch if you oops during winter.
I never bothered looking under that door because mine...
Then cease being snide to those who drive them. Or, if you plan on commenting - and please do - at least do some cursory research to make sure you know what you are on about. There’s a thought.
I agree though, low range would have been amazing in this vehicle, but mostly what it would do is...
