Damn! Looks like that just caked into the treads. Makes me want to get some recovery boards…
What do you usually air down to when driving this kind of trail?
Whether or not it is a bad sound or not, I would bring it in to Ford to look at. I have the same issue and I had mentioned the loose shift cable to the tech, but was told that they spoke with an engineer and that these noises are “normal” and due to the solenoids in the transmission preparing...
Found these badges in an online shop, and bought two of them to replace my WeatherTech badging.
Didn’t get the Ford floormats since it looks like they do not go below the gas pedal at all, while the WeatherTech covered a lot more area. Now I get some more custom-made looking floormats...
Interesting! My cactus grey BB has body color for that location. Might be a vinyl wrap? Another poster here has a BB with a full black roof, and it ended up being a vinyl job (not sure why, I love the body color roof ?)
Following this! I agree that stock jack and iron usage would be great, and putting in the spare. I’m sure if I get a flat in the middle of nowhere I’ll be flustered enough to search for a video ?
Two other things I’d love is spark plug replacement and hood jack stand locations.
Bless you for...
Do you have a link to those tires? I am considering a lift and am looking at what tires peeps are going for. Especially interested in the sand performance when you get back out there!
I had not yet unfortunately. From another thread, there’s a claim the BB/OB does not have all of the hookups for the OEM front hooks. Might have to wait for something aftermarket for those models.

On the way home after posting that, it came on and off 4 different times… it is also not close to empty so I will mention that when I get my brakes done next week ?
So you’re telling my my washer fluid isn’t actually low?? I get a warning randomly about it would make sense if that was not true… I barely use my washer fluid!
Sad to hear it’s taken so long… The hard drive-like noise from the transmission I was told was actuators in the transmission preparing to shift, and I didn’t get a real detailed explanation on the other noise at 1500RPM. I offered the shift cable resolution but that was shot down as not a...
Took mine in Tuesday for the whirring sound at ~1500RPM in neutral (with hot engine) and for the hard drive-like sound at low speeds/power, and was told both are normal sounds from a Ford engineer.
Another BS in for an unrelated problem also has the sound. Not sure I am 100% on board with it...
Best of luck!
Slippery and sand both work good in the deeper stuff, though I tend to use it mostly when it’s really deep since normal works great usually!
I was looking for this exact type of thread before I bought, so I figure I should help here!
Been driving on cape outer beach trails in MA in my BB. No issues on the standard continentals for tires, and most of the times I am in normal mode. Standard deep sand driving rules apply.

Driving home over the weekend I noticed a definitely new sound coming from somewhere in the car that occurs when braking, starting around when you pass through 30mph coming to a stop. It sounds like a fairly light/soft thumping sound that slows down as the car slows down. Revving the engine in...
