No worries about scratching. Because the hood loops are under tension, they pull away from the hood. Even if they did touch I donāt think it would be any more abrasive than what the hood already faces while driving.
sure thing!
my technique has been to lay the kayak vertically up against the...
After getting my kayak I was actually able to figure it out and nail down a good system. There are two ropes on the front tied down to hood straps (same kind in my original post). They actually fit snug in a specific spot on each side:
For the back, I have the ropes going underneath the lift...
I recently installed OMAC's roof rack crossbars onto my BS Outer Banks. I figured I would make a post on here sharing my experience because of the difficulties I had finding suitable crossbars.
If you own an OB, Badlands, or First Edition, and start shopping for crossbars, you might have...
Hi all, I'm transporting a kayaking soon on my BS' roof and wanted to see if anyone could give any pointers for tying down the bow and stern. I am strapping the kayak down flat to crossbars I have installed on my roof. I plan on feeding my bow/stern straps through my kayak's handles (photo of my...
Hereās the OMAC installed. Will probably make a separate post after actually loading them up, but so far so good. Installing them was more complicated and frustrating than I anticipated but I got it figured out. Have noticed a little bit of noise with them as well.
I ordered the omacdirectly from their site and it says theyāll be here tomorrow. Iāll have to report back if they fit, but if they donāt Iāll order $160 ones on Amazon specialized for my 22 Outer Banks.
Not to resurrect this thread, but would these fit on my '22 OB? The Amazon title says they won't, but I've seen multiple times in this threat that all the '22 rails are the same. I'm hoping these will work because it looks like the alternative is $100 more on Amazon.
EDIT: It's looking more and...
Four things I wish I had on my OB based on the pricepoint I paid, in order of necessity:
1. Power liftgate
2. Front object detection sensors
3. Park assist
4. Turn signals on the mirrors
Memory seats are a nice addition for '23 but overall not really any major changes.
Before I got my OB, I considered ordering. One of the dealerships taking orders was Grand Prairie Ford in Grand Prairie, TX. The salesman I talked to on the phone shot himself in the foot when he said dealer options were standard on all vehicles, including custom orders. They also tried to tell...
Hi all,
This has probably been asked before, but was wondering if anyone knew what this small hole above the driverās sunshade is. Not that it probably matters, but I have a ā22 Outer Banks. Microphone, possibly?
thanks!
Did you experience this or just get a recall notice? I feel like I've seen this issue mentioned here at least a few times, so not surprised in the slightest that there's a recall...
Definitely dealing with high temps right now. I would say itās a little bit stop/go because we donāt have too many lights, and I only find myself 3500+ RPM when Iām getting on the highway.
It does end up being worth it on a yearly basis depending on how much MPG you gain. Here is a snippet of my calculations which shows the breakeven point based on a combined MPG of 22 using regular gasoline (13,000 yearly miles of driving). The prices were based off my area, but the MPG where it...
I'm about 1100 miles into my Outer Banks and I've noticed that the MPG hasn't been what I expected at about a combined 21 or 22 MPG. I've had a healthy mix of both city and highway driving. On the highway alone, I get about 24-25 MPG. In the city, I get closer to 19 or 20. It's gotten as low as...
