Will be installing our 3rd windshield in 17,000 miles. They are garbage imo. All tiny chips turned into huge cracks right away. We've never actually heard a rock hit the glass. 1800.00 Canadian. Good thing we have insurance with 200.00 deductible but still extremely annoying! Lower quality...
I had the dealer install the set available through Ford. I'm 99% sure they are Bushwhacker. Installed using supplied hardware, c-clips. They suck, One side fell off at carwash twice. Ford dealer says he can't get new clips separately. I bought some at AutoZone. Eventually I will add stainless...
Funny thing is import manufacturers have been doing this for years in various ways. Want xxx option? Move up x amount of dollars to the top of the line trim package. But I don't want or need about 5k of these extras! Too bad, have a nice day. ?
Shop got my replacement in overnight in Canada. Sadly it took a rock 3 weeks later. Crack spread to both sides. Will order another one shortly. 1800.00! Thankfully I have a 200.00 deductible.
I will look at options. Debris was from oncoming traffic. I have heard of plastic film similar to PPF, may explore that. I can't imagine deductibles staying this low with the pricing on newer windshields with all the electronics. Buddy has a Maserati, 18,000.00 windshield to be shipped from Italy ?
I will be getting windshield #3 (counting original) when I return to Canada. All chips/cracks were tiny rocks that spread into cracks almost immediately. All on highway, no gravel. Seems to chip very easily. Thank god I have insurance with 200.00 deductible as bill was 1800.00!
Had factory one replaced in Canada one month ago, 1800.00! Thankfully had 200.00 deductible. Get to AZ for winter, bam, another rock. Will have to wait until we get home to get another replacement and yes the glass shop sublet to dealer for camera calibration.
100%! I can't stand any feature that you have to disable everytime you start a vehicle. Should be a permanent off option in vehicle settings. My Mercedes is the same pain in the ass.
I have a BL with hood insulation, added AeroSkin deflector. I've never had a vehicle with so much hood shake/movement. Was thinking of rock guarding underside to see if that helps. Line x type of coating.
Summed it up perfectly. I was a dealer for 20 years in a town of 5000 people. I never understood the big city mentality thinking they had unlimited customers. The internet is your friend when shopping. I appreciated a knowledgeable customer and believe me you won't be in business long in a tiny...
