That's great! Those Maverick folks are pretty damn resourceful. Went digging around their forums and discovered its roughly 9 days from plant to Houston Texas. If things go well my wife might get hers mid to late May.
Nice! I wonder what the transit times are from the assembly plant to Texas? As I understand things Texas is a major hub coming in to the US, and sounds like it's a straight shot.
In a conference room somewhere at Ford someone said "Wait, wait! Check this out. How about we remove a few subtle features AND raise the price?"
That someone is probably a VP now.
My ladies Badlands is schedule for May 2nd week. First email said April 25th, then a couple weeks later got moved to the 2nd. Hopefully that date sticks, though earlier would be nice too!
Absolutely. That said I feel walking away is a valid option for customers, or at least in our case it is.
The buying process and peoples threshold for what they accept or need can vary a great deal. Like in our case all we cared about was the out the door price. Monthly payments, etc are not a...
I understand peoples desire to be cautious and on guard when buying a car. I think everyone has had a bad experience at one point or another in life, lord knows I have. I was once a fresh faced 18 year old who was just stepping off his first assigned base in the Navy. The car dealers just a few...
I know the answer! We should create a greatest hits thread. Aside from when to change oil we can discuss other important topics like the pros and cons of letting your engine warm up for 20 minutes each day.
Mall crawlers tend to be the ones who do not wave.
Also, the Jeep wave dates back to WW II. Soldiers and Veterans started the wave, or so the history of Jeep says.
Absolutely! Just was pointing out other reasons. I have even noticed a few posts here with people buying one model then ordering another, or trading in after just a couple of months.
Could be, but don't forget sometimes people can be just stupid. Neighbor once bought a new Corvette, 3 months later he trades in for a BMW. Known a few people to do things like that, losses be damned.
Ha! I have done the same. Wanted a roadster, loved the Jag F-type, convinced myself a Maita was a more sensible choice. Ended up getting rid of the Miata and doing an order for a Jeep Rubicon optioned just the way I wanted it. Almost 4 years later and still love it like the day I got it.
My...
My wife ordered a Badlands specifically for the 2.0. In my experience, the extra power is much preferred over "good enough".
As mentioned above I think the biggest factor would be condition and miles.
After doing 3 different orders from 3 different dealers/brands I have come to the conclusion the process is like that TV show Whose Line is it Anyways. Everything's made up and the points don't matter.
I wonder if what is shown is really dealer inventories or a persons order. I ordered from Jeep and Mazda in the past and in both cases the vehicles showed up on their sites as inventory coming soon. Nothing shady happened, turned out their systems show everything coming in online.
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think you are setting yourself up for some heartache. Reality is orders are going to take 4-6 months, and most likely closer to 6. Looking at your order date chances are you won't get a build date for another month or two. Maybe you will get lucky but...
Dealer allocation is a thing that happens with all the auto makers and appears to have complex process tied to them. After going through what I did with my Jeep as well a Miata I came to the conclusion it is all messy and random.
Supply issues are not making things any better for sure. Recently...
