I think the answer depends entirely on the dealership. In our case I knew it was delivered before the dealer reached out. Obsessively checking the Ford tracker a million times a day paid off in that regard. As soon as I had seen the tracker update emailed dealer to arrange pickup.
Yeah the entire trip it gave estimates for "Arrival at Industry". Near the end that slipped a day followed by another 1 day slip. Once the Arrival day came it mentioned something about Kirby, which I was able to see was a rail station in San Antonio. Like 2 days later it said railcar unloaded...
Ordering a vehicle, especially in this day and age, is not for the feint of heart. The issues go well beyond Ford and the Bronco.
I am a bit of a Corvette nut and not long ago was looking at ordering a C8. Most wait times are looking like 9-15 months. And good luck getting it at MSRP. Looked at...
I hear you there! It's like they speak an ancient, long lost language. The only thing I was able to figure out, I think, is that "Industry" means the final location where the railcar gets unloaded.
So very true. It could take a day, could take 3 weeks. Dealers will not be able to tell you when, and that last part of transport becomes a black hole.
Side note, I arranged to have a vehicle shipped a little over a week ago. Friday I got a pickup window of June 6th or 7th. Today I got an email...
Pretty sure you want to be checking UP. CSX handles east of the Mississippi.
For reference when I checked our during transit UP called out locations like Nogales, etc. CSX said the railcar was in Alabama......
I think your friend has it about right. Highly likely people at your dealership simply do not know how to pull the particular report so instead they share info from the reports they do know how to access. We lucked out in getting to see the VVR. The manager kept showing us screens and saying...
O totally subjective. I think the top is what throws me off, more specifically the soft tops. They just look saggy and wrinkled on 4-doors. Hard top is ok, but yeah i am more of a two door guy for off-road type vehicles.
And again, while I dislike the 4-doors it is what gave the Wrangler a new...
Not a fan of the 4-door Bronco but the 2-door looks great! Feel the same way about Jeep Wranglers, but truth is the 2-doors exist because of the high volume 4-door sales.
Just a few weeks ago I was able to see the railcar number in a VVR. I suspect in at least a few cases it's not that the dealer is lying and more they do not know how to pull the report. When I had dropped by asking for it the floor manager pulled up everything but the VVR. He had no idea how to...
Rooting for you over here! Your order shipped two days before my wife's. I figure if your railcar is not delayed, and there is no delay hauling it to the dealership, and if Madonna's "Like a prayer" comes on when you are checking the tracker, then you have a pretty good shot of getting it before...
The rail info does not get populated for everyone. Never did for my gals ride and still shows nothing. A few other points I will share are....
If you have issues bringing up the Ford tracker, try using the link from a previous Ford email. I have 3 emails from them with links, latest email...
And that's a wrap. Wife picked her ride up today, no drama or hassles. 36 months at .9 from Ford so no complaints there.
The obligatory picture, though we all know what a Badlands in Area51 looks like.
Decided to take tomorrow off, make for a nice 4 day weekend of nothing but playing video games.
Then, just moments ago, my wife got the "Your Vehicle is in final preparation." email from Ford.
So I guess make that 3 days of nothing but playing video games.
When I see this title my first thought is "Search the quatrains of Nostradamus".
On the 39th the horse will roar, its nostrils full of light
Released from the belly of the beast trapped on rails, it searches for it's Master
This thread is really going places......
I will be interested in seeing how my ladies ride handles in windy situations, but suspect it will be no better or worse than her Kia Soul. Certainly better than my Jeep. 2 door Wranglers are not well known for their sophisticated handling in the wind...
