I do believe there will be a need and market for EV's. The issue (at least for me) is the price and range/distance between charge. They will get better in the way of distance, but price? That is to be seen, at least by me.
Impressive write up. Even though I'd most likely not need the feature, its nice to know there are those out there that go through the task of doing it themselves, then present a write up on it.
Hats off to you!
As of late, I'm reading more and more on this site of issues that can't seem to be fixed, or diagnosed on a first (or second) visit.
I go out and smile at my other two rides each day (2007 Ford F-150 and 1967 Camaro).
Granted, these reported events on this site (and others perhaps) are few...
You've been documenting it with visits to Ford, that is good. Leave it there until you get a definitive diagnoses, and repair.
A vehicle shutting down on any road is placing yourself in a dangerous situation, and that is not acceptable.
My wife and I had a similar issue in that a BMW we owned...
Add a small bottle of Textron every 3rd or 4th tank full. Shell has it in all their grades, but you can easily add it yourself instead of paying the higher prices Shell charges for their gas.
Like any other model, it will reach a point where it needs a refresh, and then it will change. Ford has done a great job with the retro Mustang and Bronco style, but like the Mustang, the Bronco will see changes; it's the only way it can remain popular as a selling point without going stale...
A two car garage was always on our 'must have' list when we bought and moved between houses.
One spot for my toy, and the other for the wifes car, currently the BS.
Several posts with leaking coolant issues. Will have to wait and see what your diagnosis is before it can be considered a common issue with the other posted problems.
Interesting...
They (Consumer reports) left out one category with reliability factor , and it applies to looks with the Rivian R1T :
Butt freakin' ugly.
I agree with Mark on the issue of having an engine replacement loosing value. If it were a muscle car or rare vintage vehicle, then yes, a 'numbers matching' vehicle is all the rage with collectors these days.
But our Bronco's do not fall into a vintage/muscle car collector category.
Not sure...
