Cactus Gray Badlands here in riverside county, i’ll mostly be around
went to ocotillo wells about a month ago! first time trying out that little 4x4 playground they got.
also for those familiar with anza borrego. not sure if this section has a name but in my badlands i went down a very steep drop off along the borrego mountain wash somewhere near the slot canyon trail. probably one of the coolest things i’ve done in the BS. kind of funny because it was...
what do you mean they’re opening? were they ever closed? honest question as my understanding of marked forest roads around where i live in socal are the ones that i’ve been trailing on, which are open.
is there another forest road system that was closed?
thank you! yes the look of the car has drastically changed with the meatier tires. i do notice 235 vs 245 wildpeaks at3ws are different not just by size but the 245 sidewall seems a lot more meaty, not sure why.
clearance i think technically gives me about .5” extra than previous being an inch...
anybody know of a decent vinyl brand that’s on the inexpensive side, or where i could find some in general? thinking of wrapping the roof myself if i ever want to change the roof color.
if i got the moneys to toss, i would totally get one bc they look cool haha.
for overlanding i’m more of a sleep in the car kinda guy unless i have other people in my car then it’s a tent on the ground no problem.
wow i never noticed until you mentioned! i wonder how much clearance that would eat up, at the same time i guess rock sliders serve its own purpose too.

a solid overspray layer is what you want so it’s easier to peel when it dries but...
not much of an explanation but pretty stiff. they do hinder departure angles. i’ve banged mine a few times, they still look fine. not bent in any way but would prefer some loose ones
i forgot to reset mpg calculations, will try to test it asap.
on the pirellis i was averaging 23.8 ish mpg including some short off-roading(1hr total) once or twice a week.
my mpgs dropped on my current trip to 23.6 but i’m sure that’s because i went off-roading twice back to back days with...
there’s a speedo calculator i saw someone post that says at 70mph reading, real speed is about 72.5 / 73mph. not exact numbers from the chart but it was something along those lines, i’m comfortable with those numbers but will want to get it reconfigured whenever i get the chance
If there is already a similar thread already i apologize.
I recently put on 245/65/17 Wildpeak AT3W on my badlands and they look amazing! especially coming from the pirellis. parked on pavement no rub at all at full lock, gets pretty close tho. id imagine these will rub at full articulation and...
