Sure can! I’ll be installing the new cable style cable soon but the vehicle functions perfect without.
Only reason for that cable is it allows you to put the vehicle in neutral if it needs to be towed and that battery is dead it’s a manual override to put in neutral

Yes. Still good. No noise. I have the revised cable ford invented in December but just wanted to see what would happen if I took the original completely out and it’s nice
Completely removed because with it still attached to the transmission with the one bolt, it’s still under some tension on the wire so I thought lcd remove completely and see how it sounds
UPDATE - dealer was useless after having it for a couple days.
I actually removed the park release cable today and then drove it. Wow. So much quieter at least so far ?. At least that’s confirmed to have caused or acted as a pathway for noise from the engine bay the rattles are non existent...

I may do that. I thought about trying one more time at a different ford dealer in the city I’m in before starting a case.
I wonder how you actually start a case. When I have called ford , they always direct you to the dealer. Is there a code word. Haha
Not sure about right. Now. Mine is still the old one and it was built Jan 27/22 so definitely suspect. Maybe I should remove it all together and take for a test drive Good way to rule it out
I have a 2022 bronco sport and it and all of them have the manual park release cable. They are blowing smoke
my vehicle gives off a lot of noise from the front driverside but I haven’t changed it to the new revised cable with the counterweight yet
Hi there.
I was reading a lot of posts on the forum about those rattle clicks from the driver side front area and I’m changing the same problem.
I’m going to replace the park release cable but please please I’m dying to know what’s the part they replaced in your transmission to also quiet things...
For me it’s that rattle you can hear during the up shifts and downshifts in that driver front area If they don’t know, then I’m gonna get that alternate part number from Ford for the shifter cable that isn’t supposed to rattle and grind
I’ll check my date of Manufacture. It’s a 2022 model, but date built I’ll take a look Is yours a 2021?
Ya. I get that rattle/clicking noise anytime it gets around 1500- 1700 rpm during shifts between 0-50 km/hr. It goes to the dealer next Wednesday for first oil Change and I’m leaving it...
Hi there. I gave my info yesterday to another Ford person and they said because it’s in Canada to contact them, so I did but they said just to go to the dealer so not sure why giving the vehicle info on here helps ?
