On my Badlands the setback has a 7 deg slope when folded down. That‘s a significant and very visible angle, no where near flat. A thick mattress might work but I would remove the entire rear seat to level things out.

FOB's can be programmed in the vehicle, no need to pay for that. Not sure about using a 5 button FOB for remote start. Might be worth just trying it, worst case you have a spare FOB.
