I had the same problem with Ford Tech saying the exact same thing. It’s like these guys check the vehicle for a few minutes and move on to the next. I too need to take my vehicle back to have it inspected once again. Other members have reported a crack in the catalytic converter was the cause so...
Are you having any issues after fueling up? Like rough idle? I found this on the maverick forums. Could be the purge valve on top of the engine.

Mine just started having this same issue a few months ago. I’m currently at 52000 miles. Took the vehicle in for the injector recall, coolant loss once again and now exhaust smell. I used to have a 2014 ford flex with a similar issue. Would smell like exhaust once you get on the accelerator...
Seeing how we’re having this issue after fill up. Mark brought it up in a different thread that it’s possibly a evap purge valve issue. I have a habit of topping off even after the nozzle clicks so I’ll stop doing that. I’ll keep an eye out from now on to see if the rough idle comes back.
I do a lot of highway driving and did notice a fair share of rocks hitting vehicle. One even cracked my windshield as well. After installing my Aeroskin ii hood protector it’s kind of rare now when one reaches the windshield.
I’m really not 100% sure. Other members had similar issues with the idling and changed the battery and that did the trick. Mine did idle rough after fueling but the engine was also still cold so not sure if maybe the battery didn’t have enough time to charge. For me after driving home 45 miles...
Looks like we have similar issues. My vehicle also has coolant loss. Although very little, in the last 51k miles I’ve topped it off twice from minimum. Dealer put it under pressure and couldn’t find any leaks. As for the idle, it happened to me once just like you after fueling. Apparently it’s...
It would seem like that on paper but it has to come down to the ecu programming. Because mode per mode on both vehicles the badlands comes out with little to no effort meanwhile 1.5 ecu struggles to figure out what’s going on.
You have to consider the fact that the Badlands and trims with the 1.5L have a completely different AWD system. I posted some videos a while back of slip tests performed on both systems and they are vastly different. Badlands is superior in every way.
If you’re thinking of going down that route then I’d recommend not cheaping out on spacers. It can be very dangerous. Get a reputable brand like Bora. Also maybe watch a couple videos on YouTube on how to properly install and retorque etc.
