Hey, I'm just going off what you just said. I totally agree it makes zero sense! The wheelbase of the 2 door frankenranger with a body over 180 inches long would look ridiculous, but that's what you're claiming right here:
I'd love to hear where you're getting this supposedly authoritative...
1) BroncoBronco isn't on the T6 frame, it's on a new frame that will be shared with the next gen Ranger.
2) It's a pickup frame, taking length out of them is not difficult. Hence how they can make the shortened Frankenranger mules in the first place.
The frankenranger mules may not be representative of the final body but there's no reason they wouldn't be representative of the final wheelbase. If those two door mules running around end up with a 190 inch long body on them they'd have ridiculously long overhangs front and rear.
BroncoBronco...
These all sound good to me (except I don't care about the rear-seat alert thing). Built in data recorders are cool, I love the ones in the new corvettes for getting video of track days so a similar thing in the Bronco would be neat.
Also some detail on Sync 4 has been released today...
Much as I wish for more 2 door SUVs to exist, no, I don't think it would sell in particularly large numbers. History has proven that. If they were going to try to launch the baby as a standalone vehicle, I think they would need a 2 door for image purposes, but with the BroncoBronco to ride the...
Very cool. I am reminded a little of what I've done with my 09 vette with making the computers let me have fog lights on all the time (instead of them turning off when the high beams are on) and switching the body control module to USA mode so that I can turn off the automatic headlights (that...
Because then they can offer auto-power-folding-mirrors as part of the 'premium package' and charge you more for it, without adding any cost to manufacture.
It's like on some older cars where all the wiring for features you don't have is still there and you can just plug one right in.
This is really cool. As a sysadmin and programmer by trade, it's cool to see how much control and information we are able to get from modern vehicles now. I don't own anything new enough to do this level of digging on but now I'm very intrigued.
Have you heard of this unibody thing called an XJ Cherokee? I hear they do pretty well off road.
That said from everything I've heard Land Rovers have the theoretical ability to do quite well off road but not the reliability to stay out there.
I'll keep the Pajero Evo. Probably start stockpiling parts from japan for when I inevitably need them. Maybe someday do the turbo swap from the 3000gt for some extra go-fast.
For off-road stuff, I have a 1997 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution
For on-road and track stuff, I have a 2009 Corvette Z06
For my commute to work (when it isn't snowy) and weekend fun, I have a 2008 Kawasaki ZX-6R
