I was a big fan of the Logitech internet radio systems until Logitech pulled the plug on its server which made all of my equipment suitable only for boat anchors. I have found that the Grace Mondo Elite is a good substitute but with much fewer available stations.
There are traffic channels on SXM that announces traffic issues for a few regions. I find these fairly useless because there is too much bandspace given to geographical areas that do not concern you. XM also offers another XM subscription for ski reports, weather, and traffic. I found that...
Take a look at the 3M Dual Lock tape. That stuff is much stronger than the industrial Velcro and the adhesive holds up better in heat. That is why many states use the tape for mounting EZ-Pass and Sun-Pass transponders on windshields. https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/p/d/b40072056/
That would probably work. You may have to place some of those on the backside, too. I got some of those to fabricate a GoPro mount for a kayak and the ones I got were rated 65lbs.
I went through this with my Porsche Boxster. Other posts here covered the options I saw. The tag decal is not approved by my state and I did not like the tow hitch mount. I bought the one for show cars that attached underneath the car but I never installed it. I have left it off for over a...
I use the Apple wireless charging pads which I keep in my console. The Apple pad offers the fastest charging. The Ford supplied pad is pure junk. The magnet is too week to hold the phone or center the phone over the charger.
A friend uses a small boat trailer to carry his. He has a Jeep with a hard top but is over 90 years old and not capable of using the roof. My solution is to use inflatable kayaks. Here is my Sea Eagle Razorlite 393RL. It is 12' 10". I also have an Advanced Frame Advanced Element around 10'...
Galvanic corrosion is a real issue typically caused by using dissimilar metals. If aluminum has not been treated, I like to paint with zinc chromate. You will not see these paints in a retail store but available from aviation suppliers. I also use ACF-50 to kill and prevent corrosion.
I have been using the same device for about two years. It works correctly about 85 percent of the time for me. It will either hang up or the Sync 3.4 does not recognize the device.
I recently replaced the head unit in my Porsche with a Chinese made high-end Android head unit and could not be happier. I replaced mine because original head unit did not have CarPlay, navigation, or a backup camera. The new head unit supports both wireless Android Auto and CarPlay and has a...
Anyone using the ThinkDiag app on their BS? This scans, does systems checks on components, clears codes, does bi-directional checks, and can be used to program some modules. All this for under $100.
As DWG suggested, I installed the two weather strips on my hood shortly after I got the BS. There is no vibration or looseness. This mod will likely solve your problem. I also got the Ford hood soundproofing. This part had a very hefty shipping cost which was waived if you order from your...
I got it to work. The Ford instructions said to use 3.0 or higher USB stick so I initially went with a 3.2 version USB. That did not work. Instead, I tried an older 2.0 USB and got the message that the device was not supported yet it worked fine. Update was done in about 30 minutes.
I have not been able to get the update to work. I have reformatted the USB to exfat and tried compressed and decompressed map files without success. Does the syn32 or the syncmydrive go into the root of the usb or does it matter? Which folder do I put the license file?
