  1. Say Hello and Introduce Yourself! ?

Joe said: Then I got a fire extinguisher (white to match the vehicle). There doesn't seem to be a really good place to mount the fire extinguisher (no roll bar/I'll figure something out). Desert Does It (online) sells a fire extinguisher mount for under the front seat. They make good quality...
  2. Pedal Commander throttle controller

Just curious, how do you know when cylinder deactivation is happening? I drove my Big Bend for almost 2 years and, while I assume it happened at some point, I never noticed at any time a loss of power nor any sign of cylinder deactivation. To the contrary, the engine had plenty of power in...
  3. Coolant level @ 11k - 24'OB

That’s good news! Keep doing your regular inspections. With warmer weather coming tire pressures will be rising, with adjustments needed at least monthly. :)
  4. Not happy with my defrost - a bit strange

Is your a/c off? I don’t remember exactly how those controls work, but the windshield clears much faster and stays cleared if the a/c button is on. You’ll still have warm air but the a/c pulls the moisture out. And make sure the recirc. Is off.
  5. Lost faith

4 Water pumps, 1 a/c condenser, multiple recalls in less than 2 years for me. I never had to pay anything out of pocket, but I didn’t like what I saw looking into the future. Traded it in with 23,000 miles on it. I loved the car but lost trust for long term reliability. Even minor repair...
  6. Coolant level @ 11k - 24'OB

Yes they should do a pressure test, with with or without dye, so they can see small leaks. The dye makes it easier to spot. Hoses can leak, water pumps fail, valves, radiators and heater cores and their hose connections They should also check the old oil for signs of coolant to make sure a...
  7. Coolant level @ 11k - 24'OB

Hi Debra, are you taking it to your dealer for a scheduled oil change? If so they will probably be doing an inspection of the car, tire rotation etc. if you are still under warranty. let them know the coolant is slightly low and can they look into that. Those 1.5l engines have had water...
  8. Guitar shopping

Beautiful. I’d like to hear a recording if you’ve got a good mic.
  9. 2024 BSBB - is there a good brake upgrade available?

Hi, you might check with a good offroad mod shop to see what they recommend. In the meantime, don’t forget you have the L button to help keep your speed down. That’s a good thought about the Badlands brakes/calipers, higher towing capacity may equal higher performance brakes. It’s worth...
  10. Front fender fabric liner.

That sounds like a great idea. The only issue I see would be that the added weight might be too much for the fasteners that hold up the liners. They do however hold water, snow, slush and ice as is, so it might not be a problem. Or possibly a few coats of spray paint? If you could get a...
  11. Inconsistent heat

You should keep checking it. The problem is it shouldn’t have been empty, since it’s a closed system. It might be wise to have a mechanic check it out, or the dealer if it’s under warranty. Also, don’t over fill the reservoir, only to the mid level between low and full.
  12. 2nd water pump failing

It was on the invoice. I’m assuming they did, but I didn’t watch them. The service writer said the latest one should be good…. I have since traded it in.
  13. What did you do TO your Bronco Sport today?

Bob, do you mind sharing info for this mobile body guy? Not sure where you are located, but if you happen to be anywhere near me (out west) I’d love to know someone good if I ever need them. or pm me if you prefer. Thanks
  14. 2nd water pump failing

4th timer here. In 8000 miles. I bought mine with 14,000 miles on it, God only knows how many may have been replaced before I bought it. The first two pumps showed very slow lowering of coolant level in the reservoir. The last two I didn’t notice any change, the dealer said they needed to...
