It’s absolutely related to the original post since the claim is this oil additive increases gas mileage and then uses the on-board fuel economy gauge as the yardstick.
The only reliable way to compute mileage is with a paper and pen (or calculator) and even then it’s not going to be dead accurate unless you can figure out a way to fill the tank to the exact same level before and after the calculation.

We still have a 2014 Jeep Cherokee with that crappy ZF tranny. To Jeep’s credit, they extended the warranty on the transmission to 10 years or 100k miles. The software patches did keep ours from grenading.

We don't need to "judge" anything. The OP stated his problem and laid out a few unpalatable options he has for dealing with them. How he got into that situation isn't really relevant when he considers his options. I too am perplexed by the antipathy directed at him.
