Liftgate Interior Button Missing?

Is there supposed to be an interior liftgate button by the light control buttons? I'm seeing it in many YouTube videos even on the Base model, yet I don't seem to have it on my 2021 Big Bend? Did they remove this during production? Picture 1 is from my 2021 Big Bend. Picture 2 is from a Base Model YouTube video.

I am glad I am not the only one. My big bend doesn't either. I don't believe its model specific as someone mentioned cause like you said I have seen pictures of even the base with the button. I am seeing pics of them on lots with it. Including BB like you and I. I attempted to order a switch to install to see if its wired (which i feel it should be) but they are on backorder like everything else.

I think when I go in for the brake recall, I'll attempt to get this too. They must have run out of those switches in production.

Don't bother. They will not give it to you. Ask the tons of people here (myself included) who after a certain point in time were not given an engine cover.

I have to say it's pretty useless when whoever is opening the hatch needs to put their hand where the switch is anyway because it is the lift point. Much more useful with a power hatch as on our Explorer.

I use this button once a week for grocery store order pickup. Besides that, it is completely useless. When I get home I use the exterior button on lift gate, until I have to trick it back into working

They took it out about the same time as the engine covers went poof.

Believe me when I say, the button isn't that useful. You can just open the liftgate from the back anytime this button would also work. If you use the button and then get out, the gate will re-latch (ajar) before you can get to it and then you have to hit the release anyhow. Someone once said it was good for curbside which I guess is possible if you really have zero effort goals. Seems like could be a nice option as long as you trust the loader to not hit the glass release while opening it, but then they could just hit the right button and open it from back there in the first place. Or you could get out and open it for them instead of relying on someone else to operate your vehicle and possibly misoperate or break it.

HAHA thats the main thing I wanted it for was grocery pickup, really was the only thing i used it for on my fusion and threw me off when this didnt have it. Now have to jump out and open which isnt horrible, was just nice to hit the button and they just loaded. The crappy part like you said is i usually use the button and its 50/50 if it will work or i need to use the remote to get it working again

+1 on using it for grocery pick up. First time I got a pickup with the BS they popped the glass, then proceeded to pop the trunk. Had to get out and run to the back to stop them.

That button was on my Big Bend built in Feb 2021. I think it's stupid to remove it. Fairly minor, but removing the trunk button and the temp displays on the climate control dials = going backwards. Parts bin special vibes, like the 'cubby' in the 21 Mavericks.

I get out and open hatch for grocery store pickup. I do not need them scratching car or hitting glass button or who knows what else. They do not know so best to get out open it yourself.
