At almost 14,000 miles I just added about 15 oz of 50/50 mixed Prestone antifreeze to the cooling system. It was below the minimum mark just a little.
I’ve added a little like this to many cars I’ve owned.
Not worried but I’ll watch it, Doing about a 300 mile ride In a couple of days.

I've heard tales that different Sports have different antifreezes. My 2.0 has a really neon yellow fluid in the overflow. I don't know if it's traditional or dexcool since we have aluminum blocks?

Edit: I should note, that the Owner Manual fails to tell you what sort of antifreeze to use, other than to say 1- don't mix types (common sense) and 2- don't use methanol. Time and again, it hammers the reader to use "prediluted coolant approved to the correct specification". They call it "WSS-M97B57-A2 Motorcraft® Yellow Prediluted Antifreeze". Try as I might to Google "WSS-M97B57-A2", I couldn't tell you what other product would be compatible. Ford really skirts a line on making it possible for users to correctly service the car.

I’ve used what ever antifreeze I could find many times. Mostly Prestone pre mixed never had a problem, mixed them many times.
528,000 miles in a Toyota mixing pink and yellow antifreeze. No issues with a half million miles.
Most of those wild colors are so they can find a leak..

This is what you want. The yellow is Ford’s latest greatest coolant. Read the description and you will see the spec. Just bought 6 undiluted gallons to change the coolant in my F350 diesel. On the Powerstroke forums, those guys would go absolutely insane if say you used anything but the Motorcraft original orange spec or the new yellow spec.

In the grand scheme of things, the Prestone is probably fine for a top off. Long term I’d pickup a gallon or two of the Motorcraft. You can buy it online usually cheaper than the dealer

I have a Bronco Sport Outer Banks. 3864 Miles. I got an Engine Coolant overheated message today, from a cold start. I checked the Collant Reservoir and can see the yellow coolant is at max. I removed the cap from the reservoir just to make sure there wasn't a vacuum issue. As soon as I start the engine it goes into the Collant Overheat, If I try and put it in gear it stalls out. Anyone else hear of this issue?

I had a similar issue, coolant overflow reservoir was dry at about 15,000 miles. Dealer added some antifreeze. Now, at 26,000 miles, if I check when the engine is cold, the reservoir is dry. After the engine gets up to normal temperature, the reservoir then has some coolant in it, I assume due to heat expansion. I do a lot of driving, the engine has never run hot, always runs in the normal temperature range. I have the 1.5 3 cylinder engine. I check the oil when the engine is cold, and try to see if I can smell coolant in the oil, have not so far. Just a little concerned.

The coolant level in the reservoir should be between the min and max level marks when the engine is cold. If you need to add coolant monthly, you have a leak or a possible problem with the engine

Yes the coolant expands when it gets hot pushing coolant into the reservoir. I would take it back and have dealer look it over. They can pressure test the coolant system to see if it has any leaks. With a pressure test if there is a leak somewhere they will be able to tell.

My 15,000 mile oil change is next week, I’ll have Ford check it.

An internal coolant leak (antifreeze leaking into the engine oil) will make your engine oil look milky--sorta like chocolate milk.

Oil looks fine, definitely not milky.
